humidity leak?

Hey all I got a small box that i am pumping a humidifier into 24hrs a day. I cannot get my humidity above 60% and often times the humidity in the box is less than outside the box (i.e. in the room).

I do not understand why this is happening.

I would like a lesson in thermal dynamics and entropy please.

What would be a good way of getting humidity into this box much less a whole room then?
When I upgrade to a room I don't think heaters and buckets of water will cut it. (i dont know though maybe it will?)

Thought I was shooting for 50-60% humidity.

I had 2 cups and a small plastic container of water in it for a while but it didn't make a difference between being in there and not.

I still don't understand why a humidifier would not create humidity in a box though. I am not saying your wrong I'm just saying I don't understand it.

But I'll give it a try as you guys are a lot smarter than me at all this jazz

Lights burn off humidity. So that is prob why it is lower than the room.

If you have something strongly exhausting, then the humidifier may not be as effective. I also think that when that is the case a cheap humidity meter may not be able to read what is really happening. But that is just a personal theory based on nothing but my insanity.

I have one and it reads high and low for the day. the high is 50 low is 41. I have tried setting it up so air can escape regularly as well as set it up so air is trapped it with a few routes to get out. nothing has really helped. im going to try the cups of water and see if I can stabilize it.
