Hey Folks, I was having a hard time in the curing process so I bought some of the boveda 62% humidity packs and stuck 1 in each jar. Is really bringing out the smells and taste. It's still rather hard to smoke a joint thou, 62's are what cigar folks put in their humidors to keep the cigars perfect. Is there anything special I need to do using the packs or just leave those puppies in there? Do I still need to burb the jars every now and then?

The Boveda 62% packs were designed for curing cannabis. They determined that 62%RH was perfect for curing cannabis, how that was determined, I have no idea. I have been using them this year and from what I've read you should be able to leave your buds in sealed containers with the BPs indefinitely. The packs will stop working after so much use so you should check them along with your cannabis just to be on the safe side. I started off opening my jars after about 2 wks to check on my buds, but now I have confidence that these things are doing a good job ill leave them unopened for longer periods of time. I will still visually check my jars, making sure there's no mold, just to be safe.

i got a few free samples of these a while back from a friend that owns a head shop. i was pretty impressed with them. i put a pack in a jar of some old real dried out stuff i had in a jar curing too long. it really did bring back the strawberry smell it once had. dont open the packs at all, just place them in the jar. take them out of the plastic wrapper but dont open the paper package. it's that easy. when they are no good anymore the gel inside will get kinda harder. i would personally open the jars everyday but im not 100% on that yet. i had a nice cola that i left with a pack and months after when i took the buds off the main stem, there was a little bud rot. i cant say for sure though because it could have been there before i put it in the jar. there wasnt a lot but i seen some where the bud was touching them stem. i had good air circulation when i grew it and havent seen any bud rot on my stuff in over a year besides this. although the nugs were so dense and heavy that maybe no air flow was able to get between the bud and stem.

i havent seen those bowls yet. very nice find, thanks. i think im gonna get myself one or two.

SOLD! lol

Does anyone know how those packs function ?

and what's in them?

and what reaction is happening ?

Not trying to badmouth the packs just curious

Thanks Folks, at the price of less than a buck a piece, it's almost the cheapest thing I've done in my pursuit. so far very happy. I don't think I'd go as far as the CV Vault, a simple mason jar does the trick.

Just got some in for my next harvest, do you just use it for curing? I've been told I can use it in the drying room but usually have my humidity at around 45-50%

From their website :

"Each Bóveda packet consists of a specially prepared saturated solution of pure water and natural salt. This saturated solution is contained within a water-vapor permeable reverse osmosis membrane. Within a closed desktop humidor Bóveda maintains a predetermined level of (RH) by releasing or absorbing purified water-vapor—as needed—through the membrane."

The collective/dispensary I frequent, also uses these in their display jars. The buds always smell great and are never too dry or too moist.

Try it, you'll like it! bongsmilie

Yes, that was very clever of them. All those years spent in development and testing.

... still waiting for royalty checks from all the "inventors."
