Humidity questions

I recently installed a new exhaust fan in my grow box , with just a 3"x4" passive intake.

Since putting in the new fan my humidity has risen from around 40% to 65% at root level.

Is this too much humidity?

look at the leaves. if they look droopy wrinkled or just overall unhealthy compared to before the fan was in, that would be a sign. they will look over watered. droopy curled and wrinkly. good luck to you!

my grow now is around 45% humidity but i have grown in closet spaces before with no ventilation and humidity levels hovering around 60-70% and i didnt seem to have much troubles with them. watered a little more sparingly but overall worked out just fine

I like humidity under 50 in flower and well under 50 in late flower. The real danger is bud mold.

ok cool. Right now, I have a cheap hygrometer and the only easy place to set it is right at root level. I assume it will always be higher considering the soil is within inches. It reads 60% down there , gonna try and mount it more in the middle and see what that gives me.

The humidity will always be higher the lower you go because the water makes the air heavier so it sinks.

Optimal humidity:

95-100% Clones
60-70% Veg
40-50% Flowering
40% Drying
