how much do humidity guages cost?
how important is humidity... like will it be harmful or just slightly important?
and also, will a normal stand fan directed on your plant remove humidity?
thanks.
Controlling the humidity level according to Al B Fuct account for about 40% of your success, ideal range 45 to 55%. In some areas, like mine, I live in Michigan, you will need a dehumidifier in the summer and a humidifier in the winter. And of couse you will have to have a hygrometer to monitor the levels.
If they humidity level is too low the plants will not transpire properly, they don't want too let lose of what little water they have, so they conserve, which of course means they don't get the nutrients you are giving them, no water out, no water in.
If they humidity level is too high they can't transpire. You now how it is on a humid day, your skin gets wet and clammy, your sweat seems to stick too you. The plants stomata get clogged they can't get rid of thier waste. They will shut down til they situation is corrected.
