When I was using autopots I was able to get by with a much lower EC. If I remember correctly I was only around 1.3EC (650PPM). Perhaps you are in a lockout. Are you in soil or coco? Also is it amended?
Until we know more about your medium, I would try a low EC and if problem continues then up the EC
