hyper people are the worst hunters!! deer comes in and bam bam bam bam bam. yes drinkers are very very unsafe hunters!!i myself have never had a problem hunting high its all in the person hunting!! and anyone that lets someone hunt with in 200 yards of them is not very smart!! if you stick by that rull you will be safe!![/quote
The person who shot at me had to cross my neighbors land,1200 acres to get to mine.Neither of us allow other people to hunt our lands. There are to many people now who see a hunting show and think they are hunters. They have no firearms training and never seen a deer in real life. They have no land to hunt on and see a big block of woods and think it's cool to trespass and hunt anywhere they want.So every year we have to chase at least 5 car loads of city people off our land.
It does not matter if the land is posted or not.People have no respect for other peoples property.
Thanks greenpeace31,he was a big bodied 10pt buck that weighed 305 dressed.OPH
My dad has 160 acres of nice timber and the local drunk rednecks are always shooting deer off it. They just drive around in their pickups until theres something good and hoot at it, no matter who's land it is on. The poachers are usually poor shots, so the deer run a ways off and die, but they are too lazy to track them. We have a number of food plots, growing some big deer and keeping track with field cams...even naming them. This past year three of our big boys ended up dead from poachers.
Now on the topic, I love to smoke while deer/turkey hunting. It makes me feel connected with nature and my senses are enhanced. For me, hunting is less about killing animals and more about getting out and enjoying nature with my family and friends. It can also make it somewhat tolerable when sitting in a treestand at 4:00am and below zero temps...
Pheasant hunting and smoking is a different story because you need to be more alert and able to make fast decisions.
I didn't get a buck this year, but heres a pick of one of my dad's
