you may want to select a mother..... unless you have plenty of seeds

12/12 now would be perfect.

your doing very well

keep it up :)

cool tube or air cooled reflector will reduce heat..... reflectors are helpfull in maximizing light density :)

Thanks guys for the positive comments!

I do have a question. We were going to get the Digital ph meter and ran into some problems that required some fixing in the house and put us behind a bit... so the ph meter is on hold, again.

But..... Hubby wants to know what is the best method for PH'ing the water after he has added the sensi bloom. He said he added the nutes to the water and then ph'd it (with the color chart) and needed to bring it up. Now he added a few drops of PH up and the color is off because of the color of the nutes. He wants to make sure that everything is properly done and does not want to play with the ph up and down too much. He also tried adding more water hoping to bring it up.... and nope didnt work.

Any suggestions? What do you guys use to balance out your ph?

crushed oyster shells, dolomite lime, mix together and cultivate into the soil.

only accurate way to read ph after mixing is with a digi.

He's right. The drop tests work for a ball park estimate but if you need to be spot on get the ph pen. I need one pretty bad, I've got ph issues all worked out and know how much to add to my water now so I may just wait till I go hydro for one.

Ahhhh I was afraid of that. :-| Gonna have to figure out how to work one into the budget sooner rather than later.

Hubby transplanted a baby into a pot last night. I think that one was the bag seed. Our one NL that has popped will be transplanted tonight. I also have been in touch with the seed joint to let them know about the bullshit NL's that we got and they are sending me some more. I hope they are completely different. But at least they are taking some initiative and doing something.

Ill update with more pics as soon as we transplant them tonight.

yep. find the budget for the digi ph meter soon. the way your doing it you cant see but major changes in ph. My experience is use ph down for down and ad water to go back up if needed. I find when you ad my nuts your ph automatically goes below 6 ph so i need to ad ph up. One thing i found i need much more ph up to move the ph then when i need to up ph down.

Ebay hanna is a good one. youll spend $50 total. digital pen, calibration liquid for cleaner, storage and tester 7.01. All needed and use every time because the tip has to stay moist or drying out will ruin it. replacement tips if they dry or ruin are about 15-20 bucks to take care of it.

Your plants will love you.

I am going to have to. Yanno when you just think your getting ahead....something happens to pull you back? LoL well thats our case. He has his heart set on one at the hydro store for like $90. I will let him know that he has to pick one up.

We have a water softener in the house and the water is like 7.0 or 7.3 if i remember correctly. Its nothing to get it down to 6.4 or 6.5, but like you said once you add the nutes i think its like 6.0.

I want them ti love me! Cause I am gonna love them when they are done! LoL

I hear ya. One suggestion I found from experience very recently. A 30x mag. glass doesn't show amber trichs very well if at all. At least mine didn't. Maybe my eyes but I rather blame the scope...lol. Bought a 60-100x scope at radioshack $12... When I can steady the freakin this hand/scope on leafs shows lot's of amber and cloudy trichs. Glad I started questioning the scope...

Ya I was told not to mix the to up/down in the same thing of water at the hydro store. I played with it for a bit wasted like a 1/4 of the bottle trying to find the right setting I need. It works for me for now but like I said down the road... deffinately.

Ya man love the scopes. During flowering towards harvest I love cutting off leaf tips that are sugared up and just looking at 'em its cool as shit.

As was mentioned early, I too use hydrated lime. Just a small amount mixed into the soil. My last grow the PH went as low as 3, so we'll see this time. I was using RO water. When I switched it Fox Farm bloom nutes the PH dropped. Apparently Fox Farm nutes need to be "built up" over time.

Lime has a PH of around 12, so if you just use a little in soil thats already 6.5, it will most likely never get below that.

particles per million, parts per million.... a ppm meter measures the amount of dissolved particles in the water... nutes are dissolved salt solids (basically)

Don't think you need a ppm meter using soil. More for hydro unless you just wanna play. My guess the meter your looking at has both ph/ppm reading for 90 beans? I'd say blow off the ppm meter unless money no object? Ph digi Hanna ebay 30 beans.

Have we talked about molasses in flower? Highly recommed it for flower in addition to any/all nuts. About $2 a bottle at the grocery store in the baking/cooking section....Get Grandmas in the yellow label. One tablespoon per gallon water. I use it about every 3 out of 4 waterings.... being used with and without nuts. Can be used all the way thru flush. Do some research on it. At the very least use it the 2 thru 4 waterings and last couple weeks of flower. Gang following thread are in on the molasses? Oh, What is the nut. plan? flying by the seat of your pants?...lol....Molasses make buds sugary and sweet.....

I am a devout soil grower..... ppm meter is invaluable..... I highly recomend it, whether you can afford it or not...... test water, nutrient solution and RUN OFF!! for ppm and ph each watering/feeding..... once you get one I will post a lot more information about its applied uses. Molasses is wonderful, so is all natural blackberry juice hand picked and juiced in (ph is 6.7 ;) )
