I try to be.

Well that sux about that. I have personally seen FI in a grow...and it was fucking amazing, the smell is delicious, and smoke is heavy...if you want the real stuff...it's always better to buy from the seed company that makes it...rather then through a seed bank. I'm not sure where you bought the seeds, but if you got them from VISC then you're guaranteed to get the REAL deal. It;s not the most potent out there...but it is a definate heavy hitter, 3-4 hits on my bong will put me back in my seat for hours.

I really hope that it all works out for you...bummer if it ain't!

yeah ive heard of people taking seeds out of some swag and growing some dank buds just at least keep doing this until you figure something else out i mean your not doing anything else at the moment anyways and you will still be able to do a taste and high comparison right. not saying dont figure out something else just dont stop case you dont you did say you were on a time frame and couldnt afford to start from seed. so worst that could happen is u use electricity up a lil longer than you would if you stop and a minor ammount of nutes not that big of a loss is it?

I haven't stopped it, the plants are still siding side by side and the flood/drain hasn't stopped. I transplanted the soil plants into larger containers and they are looking good. So far F*in Incredible looks really good and I can't imagine the smoke is really going to be that mediocre. I'm not ready to make the official call yet on what is going to happen. I'll look for some other genetics and in the meantime I'll continue vegging both sets of these. The hydro plants finally "turned the corner" and look much better now.

Alright, I've heard some positive reviews on F*in Incredible. I don't know what to think on these genetics now, which I'm okay with. I was very uncomfortable with ALL bad reviews, but now that it's at least a coin flip and I can see that the original plants at least look fantastic, I'm going to go ahead and push on with this grow. I also couldn't find anything else that seems like a viable candidate that I felt would make it worthwhile and less of a crap-shoot than the FI I already have going for free.

So I have some pictures of how they look today, the soil plants are still the clear leaders, but if I were a sports announcer I would say the momentum is in the hydro plants corner right now.

The hydro plants started slow and took awhile to "turn the corner" while the soil plants took off immediately and were thriving in the solo cups. The roots had just barely touched the bottom of the 4" rockwool cubes, but the soil cups had a fairly solid root mass in the solo cups. Much more root developement in the soil.

But the soil plants have slowed down since the transplant. Not drastically, just seems like a brief pause here for a moment and in that pause (Just a couple of days) the hydro plants have gone from deathbed to full of life. The new growth has finally started and it look strong. For the overall amount of time it's been they are a little behind, but the new growth only started 2 or 3 days ago and is already doing very well. Going to be interesting and I can start flowering in just a couple of weeks if I run with this strain...seems like we are going to see this through.

Normal behaviour...as it shocks the plant a bit, it will spend a few days repairing any damage it took during transplant.

Plants look beautiful man...your doing something right...keep it up!:joint::mrgreen:

Theyll blow up in the soil. Givem a week with just water only and watchem blast off. Looks good, I hope to see the hydro turn around. Ive done some research and FI looks like a great strain. Some friends said it was great. I guess that all depends on personal prefrence. Anyways, have you been feeding the babies in soil as they look really dark?

I haven't fed on the soil side. The hydro side has already "turned the corner and I'll bet it'll be a dead heat once the soil plants take off again. They do seem pretty dark which is odd, they were in Happy Frog until I transplanted into the FFOF, but I filled the bottom 2/3rds with FFOF and then used Happy Frog on the top 1/3rd (pretty much the depth of the cup) to try to give them a little more chance before they hit the hotter stuff. They have been pretty dark green all along even in happy frog compared to the hydro that yellowed out first, and has just now starting forming good solid green growth.

I'm pretty excited to get this all rolling, the flower room for the FI looks pretty promising right now.

Just bought some Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil to try as a change from the Miracle Grow I have been using with decent success on autoflowering dwarfs that Iv'e been growing for some time now. I was told by the guy at the hydroponics store that I bought it from, that I wouldn't be disappointed, and would get a much better harvest with the new soil. Any comments from someone who has used both?

Eh, I would never use Miracle Grow. It's just horrible for high grade MJ. I mean, if you're not picky about what you smoke, I'm sure it works fine, but from what I understand, it's really bad for MMJ especially since it has a lot of chemicals in it.

Something about smoking a plant that's had Miracle-Grow makes it really nasty on the lungs. But if that doesn't bug you, then don't worry about it.

It would bug me.

I'm actually an Advanced Nutrients fan, but I know not everyone can handle how strong they are. If you're interested in high quality smoke, I would check out AN the next chance you get.

From one grower to another, I think it outperforms Fox Farm, from what I've seen in friends' harvests. I've stuck with AN most of the time I've been growing, so I don't really have a lot of comparison.

It will be good to see what kind of results you get here. Share what happens here and everyone benefits - I mean, if you really see something special, we would all like to know.

I've seen some nice grows from using MG...the trick is to not use too much...and make sure your plants are fully flushed of any nutes at harvest. This is the number 1 reason that pot is harsh when smoking.

AN is a little overated in my opinion, if you want some REALLY good stuff...look at Atami's B'CUZZ preoducts...that stuff is the bomb!

Things are still moving along, I swear I'm ordering the 600w lights today and hopefully I can get them here by next week. The T-5 isn't going to provide enough covereage for both sides for more than another week so hopefully they don't drag their feet shipping my shit for too long. I got my tax return and I'm going to use that for the lights.

here they are side by side.

Crazy as it is, I can't seem to order the lights! I have the money and now I can't order the lights. I don't know what's up with HTG Supply, but if I can't get my order in today I'm going to have to shop somewhere else. I have been trying for 2 days now to get this going, but no go. Now here it is Monday, they've supposedly been open for 3 hours, but their phones just ring and ring and their website won't process my order. Not exactly instilling a lot of confidence, but they may be in an area that has some weather and they aren't open.
