hydro bastards snoopin' around

OK so heres my problem i live in a rented house i live on the main floor and another apartment is on the second floor i grew one crop of a couple plants under a 400 watt hps from about dec to sometime in march and never had anyone ask about my power usage then about two weeks after my harvest (the lights are now off) the hydro people were asking the upstairs people about thier power being high but said nothing to me now a couple weeks later they come back asking me about my power usage but i couldnt answer her questions because the hydro bill is in my landlords name (my rent is all included) she said she would like to speak with him. now heres my real problem the lights a had were a friends who has since taken them back so i went out and got my own brand new lights and would like to start growing a crop again BUT im kinda nervous are they on to me? my place is not that big a normal apartment size so would they notice such power coming from a small apartment..... i was also wondering do you think my landlord would have both of the apartments under the one bill there are to hydro meters on my house so i think they are seprate......... please help this paranoid grower lol thanx

Move to California and get a med letter.
Be cool and pay your biils on time. Only if he asks tell your landlord you have lots of house plants and you like lots of showers (bad back have to take lots of hot showers) so if he needs you to pay a little extra cool.
Other than that keep your mouth shut and don't let anyone in without a warrant.

I think there on to something ,its an apartment your power bill is smoking everybody elses .they have something to compare it too.the reasoning is that they confronted you.somebody knows something.wait untill youre lease is up and stock on seeds and evrything at that address and then move.try to get a small house or something. I hear a lot of bad things about apartments.

Are they seriously bugging on an electric bill for 2 plants? 400 watts should be like 15 bucks a month. How much suspicion can 15 dollars arouse man, some people on this sight say their electric bill goes up 300-500 dollars because they run 4 1000 watts and ventilation and hydro systems along with a heater or airconditioner. If you were doing that in your apartment i would be weary. But your not so dont worry and it sounds like your doing a good job doing so but keep people out of your shit.

Just say you turned the thermostat up on your hot water heater cause you like really hot water (assuming its power not gas) that would make your bill go up by at least 10 dollars minimum.

im suprised too that you r catching any problem with just a 400 wt
i have 2 400 wts a 250 and a 150 with all other house appliances wash/dryer my bills around $200 in vegseason a month

thanx for all the replies guys, purplehaze2 your right im moving the fuck outta here asap lol an apartment is no place for growing.... but does anyone think that this could be just regular hydro inspection or whatever.. the hydro person didnt say why they were here she just asked for the person who pays the hydro bill and when i said it wasnt me she got my landlords number and left

you should of asked why... never hurts to ask, now your paranoid...... they might have just wanted to know who fucked with the meter, or what ever, but better to be safe than sorry.....

just tell them you had a saltwater fish tank that you recently took down and sold off hence the significant drop in electricity use so abruptly.
if it comes to it that is

turn on the light for a month... but dont grow

see if people start coming around again, then if anything happens nothings out of wack

and if nothing does then i bet youre cool

my computer pulls more watts than a 400hps. i dont get it.. they want to sell u as much electricity as they can.

I have NO idea what a hydro bill is, but I'm wondering if your landlord isn't paying the utilities. You guys could be fucked if that's the case. I assume both apartments are on the same meter (think you said that, can't remember now), makes it really hard to determine who's using what.

I dont know man I dounbt a single 400W HPS would generate any suspicion, your PC more than a 400W lamp, space heaters, frige, washer drier, fishtank, T.V. toaster, A.C. all these things use more than 400W and up to 1,500W you could have any of these things, or all of them,

Sounds like someone is singing to the authority. Have you kept your grow a secret? Also is hydro a english term or are you in england? Had a friend who had dual citizenship and he used to say things like that. Just tell them nothing has changed and you have nothing to hide. I might take down your grow to move to another location.
