pH meters have an accuracy of +/- x%. pH meters have to be recalibrated, probes have to be maintained and replaced, and it all costs a lot more than drops/strips. drops/strips don't have to be recalibrated. They are, therefore, more precise. This is all in that article I linked to... Maximum Yield.... ever heard of it? :lol:

There are no indicator drops or strips for electrical conductivity. That's why you need an EC/TDS meter more than a pH meter. Don't get me wrong... pH meters are convenient, no doubt about it. I haven't used my pH meter in a year. I use my EC meter all the time.

No shit there's no way of judging electrical conductivity with strips.

What you should've recommended is that ALONG WITH your new pH meter, you should purchace a TDS meter.

Seriously ES, quit giving out bad advice to new growers, almost every post of your's is wrong in some way or another.

You defended Aluminum Foil, like it was handed to you from a higher power, and now your saying pH test strips are more acurate than a properly calibrated pH meter... I have zero respect for the way you post on here, and hope you soon leave.

Whatever works for you man. I am a numbers man myself, so if I can get that .01 difference I will take it, but test strips lack the ability to give you a measurement that precise.

So weather you accept it or not numbers win over a guesstimation.


Also, I want to apologize to the original poster for taking up so many posts just to get our opinions across.

If you click on find all posts by ES, it's a pretty funny way to waste time, what an idiot, I wonder where he got all his info from, whoever told him all the crap he's spitting out deserves a swift kick in the nuts.

He's perpetuating the cycle, he got bad advice from someone, and has turned around and is giving that same bad advice to other growers...
