Hey Budman410,
I appreciate the nutrient control with hydro...and I like keeping clone Mommas. Been away for awhile, but what I used to use was coco with a wick underfeed system. Worked OK but the damn wicks would get mildew growing on them.
People tend to shy away from hydro for clone Mommas because slower growth is actually an advantage. If you need 50 cuttings every month or some crazy shit like that...then I'd go with a full on hydro system. Maybe a waterfarm.
But another issue to think about is roots. I bonsai my mommas keeping them maybe 15" maximum and occasionally I'd have to cut back some of the roots to keep them small. So take that into consideration.
Hope some of that is useful,
JD
