Hydro Shop Talk

Do you speak about your grow when at the Hydro Shop ?

Most seem to talk openly now with there cards in hand , but now and then there are those who would never do such even though there purchases speak differently . Then there are those guys that seem to live at the store while constantly bragging up there grow and skill levels , gotta love those Kats !

Old School mentality I do say and this can be a good thing . I remember going to Grow Co in Gr back in the 90's and we sure the hell never would speak plant specific back then . Shit we rode city buses in circles transfer after transfer upon route home due to Operation Green Merchant and the good old GRPD :(
Back then just referencing Cannabis would get you a swift pointing in the general direction of the doors !

Times have changed , do you feel secure speaking openly at the Grow Store or anywhere else such as Clubs ? This question is not a legal one but a personal one .

Some stores gladly discount merchandise if a Medical Card is presented . But is this even right ? I sure the hell dont show my Cards to many folks at all for privacy reason and out of respect for my patients .

The shops in Ann Arbor are different. Everyone in town grows, no one cares. hell, The Grow Show will help any and every new grower with anything they need advice wise, show your card and get 20% off. I'm familiar with those guys so I don't filter much. If people are in the shop I stay quiet but I'm not concerned about a conversation. I'm cash only so I'm just a ghost after I walk out the door though.

I do remember the days going to Superior Growers Supply in East Lansing years ago. You had to stay quiet about plant specific details, but it was totally tongue in cheek, just like the head shops. There was real paranoia and fear back then of being followed or a license plate read though. I always did funny circles all over town and random stops when picking up equipment on the way home. I'd even go all the way to the highway to see what happened. lol.

I do worry about how hard it will be to totally disappear back underground after all this "legal" stuff though, if the rug gets pulled out from under us.

I still wear a hat, eye glasses and take a cab from near by. I know it is overkill but,
it does not take much effort.

I usually know what I am going there for but, do like to be friendly to get discounts.

I stopped at Grow Co yesterday and got annoyed in about 10 minutes by the other customers. I don't like people much as it is though...present company excluded of course! Maybe I was just crabby after coming from the doctors but it seemed like everybody in there was WAY too high to function. I'm trying to have a chat with the dude there about maybe ordering some Plant Warrior pots for me to try (Glad got me intrigued by them...) and this dude with wife and newborn in tow has to push past me and interrupt our conversation to ask something more important than my questions. Yes dispshit, they have grow bags! You are standing right next to them! Can the adults finish their conversation now?

Speaking of plant warriors. I grabbed a 3 gallon air pot the other day at the hydro shop. $15.99 I think. :eyesmoke:, or maybe :dunce:.

I usually play it by ear. Some shop owners don't want to know. Others I bring a fatty with just for burning with them. Way back when I was asked to leave a few shops just because of the shirt I was wearing, those owners lost many $1000's of mine that they would have made.
