In my opinion and what I've learned is that the true difference is what's your end game? Are going for weight and fast harvest go hydro. Earthy quality and taste with less weight (depending on veg time)go organic soil. We must remember plants cannot take up nutrients in a organic form it has to be broken down into a ionic form with most of the help coming from the microbes and enzymes and in most cases we know the growth rate and yield tends to be less with organic soil so yea its all on what your aim is with going organic soil from hydro! happy growing!!

if u r new to growing I would recommend organic. u can have a lot of issues with hydro if u don't know what u r doing good luck!

I am currently growing organic but have been doing aero hydroponics for the past couple years. I switched over initially because there was a freak storm a year & a half ago that left us without power for days- killed my aerotube plants and clones but luckily had some mothers in soil that survived so flowered them out using mostly organic fertilizers. Then luckily I found a local source for compost and worm tea which really made them take off- when the weed was harvested & cured it was some of the best I ever grew and it took way less effort than my aero setup ever did. I mean you don't get the same growth rate in soil as in hydro but you can pull off yields that rival hydro if you let the plants veg long enough and LST the shit out of them.
The thing about organics that got me hooked is the taste and simplicity. It's easier to get very exotic quality buds from a natural grow but they do not grow as fast as they do in a hydro setup. I never spend time checking ph/ppms and instead just give them good pure water which is about as easy as it gets. One thing I did not expect is that most tap water systems use chloramine these days which you can not bubble or evap off like chlorine & it kills the micro life in the soil which forces nearly everyone to use bottled nutes at some point. Just know that if you do decide to go all organic you may need an RO unit unless you have a good pure water source available.
I still plan to run my aero systems in the near future because they are great for a fast clone to flower turnover. If profits are your game stick with hydro but if you want to smoke some of the tastiest bud you ever had try doing a few plants in organic soil. One source of info that was very helpful to me is a book titled "True Living Organics" by the Rev; be warned this book might make you think about dumping all your synthetic nutes in the trash.

Yields are diffrent from organic and chem in soil couldn't imagine the difference from hydro to organic soil.
