Hydro vegging plants leaf discoloration

Hey guys,
My buddy started a hydro grow a week ago. They were looking good, but he is getting some leaf discoloration now.
He is in europe so some of these values may not be standard, not sure, I grow in soil:

Tank: 1.2 ms EC, 22 degrees celsius, 5.8 ph
Air: 24 degrees celsius, humidity 50%
He also mixes his RO water with tap at 0.3 ms EC to start with.

Again I got those values from him in German. Let me know if you guys have any input.

Thanks

obvious cal mag def..ensure he trashes the rez each week
cleans it well and add a little epsom salts ...imo best to foilar feed that

you might ask him to ease the feeding back some
like 50% for the first weeks to ease the growers greed

good luck

Thanks man. He'll try some cal mag and epsom salts. Plants aren't really growing the last few days. He also switched to LEDs from HID for this round he told me... any more tips? Trying to help him bc he actually gave me a lot of tips in the beginning.

just be carefull with spraying your plants, take them out of the grow room to do it. nothing worse then an exploding hps/mh bulb. the glass gets everyware and burns right into the skin.
likewize with leds, the moisture can fuck them up
dont forget to spray with plane water the following day, as the salts can build up on the surface of the leaf and cause burning on the leaves

He is thinking that the purple in the leds causes the plants to consume more calmag now since he's a pretty seasoned grower and never had these issues.
I even found a thread about this: https://www.rollitup.org/t/need-information-on-cal-mag-deficiencies-when-using-led-lights.936000/
in a rounda bout way he is correct purple/red light stmulates the hormones(Auxens in this case) that results in longer laterals and limbs = stretching
but please understand Calmag ain't no food but rather the 'Tonic' to correct 'standard defencies' later in the plants life

good luck

He is wondering now about the next tank he will prepare. Whether he should just do calmag for a while without anything else or do regular nutes and just supplement with a bit of calmag.
