Hydro vs soil w/ pics. 2 weeks left.

These are my two girls I have right now. They are in a 4x5 grow room with a 600 watt HPS light a foot above the top of plants. I have a 560 cfm exhaust running through the light to the outside. An oscillating fan to move air and strengthen roots. Temps with the lights on range from 80 to 87 F. At night with lights off they drop to 56 to 60 F.

One is in fox farm soil the other is a bubble bucket. Both are using nutrients from Flora Series Pro. For the hydro I'm using the Recirculating Pro Chart for the soil I use what is recommended on the bottles. I'm also using fresh ph'd water with ppm dialed in. The nutrient chart says I have two more weeks left before they are ready to cut. I might wait a little bit longer depending on how they look.

The tricomes are mostly cloudy with a few clear still. I haven't noticed any amber color forming yet.

i just wanted to share the difference between soil and hydro. The buds on the hydro seem to be larger and healthier. The hydro also has more bud sites and much fuller.

Im im not sure of the breed of plant. They were found in some weed i got from a friend. These plants were taken from my first grow. So these are clones, I did not top or FIM these plants.

I've been a long time reader, this is my first post with pictures of one of my grows. This is only my second and I'm continuously learning more.

any advise is greatly appreciated.

The first to pictures are of the hydro, the other two are soil and finally them next to each other.

When you started them, in early veg how did they compare ?
i always find that soil is a bit faster for the first 3 weeks or so of veg or seedling stage
when veg truly kicks in at 4-5 weeks and they are growing fast every day this is when hydo grows faster and has an advantage, produces a larger plant with more branching
when they flower they grow roughly the same in speed but the hydro yields more
i haven't grown enough soil plants to be that experienced, my main experience is with hydro
i did find with some strains i found soil made the bud smell more pungent, but this added smell did not improve the flavour over hydro

peace

Actually the plant in the hydro set up was growing so fast during veg I had to raise the plant in the soil with 4x4s so it wasn't being shaded by the hydro plant.

Also, if the plants aren't fully developed by next week when I add the final nutrients should I just feed them water until they are ready or keep up with the nutrients for the remaining weeks and do a ph'd water cleanse for a few days once they start showing signs of Amber tricomes?

OP, something is wrong (out of whack) with those plants. Leafs should be horizontal - reaching up toward the light source. Could be simple, like a lack of blue spectrum, but could be pH, nutes, nute temps, or a combination

Thanks for the input guys.

weedemart, I'll start decreasing the nutes. Anything suggestions of what they need less of? Or all the nutes in general?

petflora, I took the plants out the grow room to take the photos and feed the plants, so they weren't in their natural habitat. The leaves are slightly more erect, but the bottom of the plant does droop more than it should. It's impossible for me to take a decent picture with the HID light beaming on my camera. P.S. your plants look great!

Thanks for the compliment

Moving the plants to take a couple pics would not cause them to droop that much. Something is off. Noting how dark green the leafs are on both plants, I suspect spectral balance, or could be too much P-K: boosters do more harm than good

Feed them until you are done. I swear if I have to explain why flushing is pointless again I'm going to rage quit the internets.

Alright, so I'll lay off on the nutes in my water from now on.
I also think I let my plants veg to long, the light probably isn't penetrating the plants enough. I didn't want them to get this tall. next time I'll do some LSTing also. I have six seeds in my veg room now, to try again.

And for flushing, I guess it's bogus. Don't rage quit!
