Hydro Vs Soil?

i havnt read all the debating going on other than soil vs hydro so here is my personal opinion. ive done both quite a few times, and i like soil over hydro. hydro does produce a little more on the yeild side and it shaves apx. a month off grow time but as far as a good ol' fashion good lookin/tastin nuggs..soil all the way. if ur lookin to crop out and make $$ and risk the chance of putting on an orange jump suit..hydro all the way.but if making money isnt ur goal and u have a whole extra (apx.) a month to sit back and enjoy ur garden..then go soil. plus soil is mor forgiving than hydro. u can trash a crop of ladies quick with hydro...as for soil if ya mess up, u almost always can fix it. also concider where u will be growing before deciding how u will grow. if u live in a humid place u will need more equipment and more stuff to controll ur grow space enviorment and that means more money. if u live in a place where the humidity is always above 60% and u add resiviors of water and a room full of plants it can get spendy controlling those issues. same goes with temps. i have found that its almost always easier to set up to the enviorment around u as opposed to making a little bio dome inside of a much bigger natural dome around u. jsy my two cents. merry growing to all

Pizza you talkin about Al B Fuct? Hes great grower..I like to use rapid rooter plugs to start my clones or seeds in then I sometimes pop them into 4x4 cubes but I have been going with 3x3 cubes with a coco mat in the tray. I used to use the 4x4 rockwool cubes then put them in pots with hydroton which works well in the 4x8 tents as you can move them around. with the coco mat you have like 2 days to position them then the roots grow thru it and they live there then lol. I leave the wrapping on the cubes just ph them in 5.0 water then fling excess water before dropping rapid rooter plug in. I always flush. I use Fox Farm which is mostly organic but I use non organic additives like silica, Humboldts Gravity and snow storm and Bontonicare Sweet. I check ppms daily but I run a clean res last week of flower. I run pure ph water for 2 days then dump that then ph 5.5 water with Genral Hydroponics clearing solution which disolves nutrient salts and draws stored nutes out. Then dump that and run 2 days pure 5.5 ph water 2 days then take down. I find if I dont the buds can sometimes tatse a little harsh when smoked or you get the chemical spark when smoked just little sparks and pops not a clean even burn.
al b fuct yup that would be him. i've been very impressed by his posts. seems top notch to me. wish i could taste his stuff in a vape to see if his no flushing would still taste as good. it would make sense though since he never burns and at the end is low on ppms. i have a friend that uses gravity and snowstorm and he swears by it. between you and al im really thinking rockwool is the way to go. im gonna have to start experimenting with it on a small scale until i get a feel for it. thank you so much once again!

Since I can only legally grow 6 plants, I want the biggest return per plant.
I can get 3-5lb per plant in soil. I have yet to see plants like this in hydro.

P.S. Can you imagine the DWC you would need to grow one of these?!
very nice. in MI your allowed 12 per patient and up to 5 patients not including yourself makes 72 plants. i cant believe everyone where i live seems to push the limit. the dumbasses dont realize you can get a shitload just off 1 plant. hell just recently a couple idiots in town got busted with over 200 plants in a greenhouse. wtf were they thinking? should of just grew fewer and let them get bigger. nice to see people like myself not ruining these medical laws and staying responsible. nice job bro!

i've grown both. i'll give you my experiences.

Soil:
buy soil (miraclegro with 3 months of plant food mixed in)
buy pot
germinate seed
plant seed
water plant
harvest weed
if you forget to water once a week the plants die

Hydro(flood and drain):
buy rubbermaid containers
buy rockwool
buy net pots
buy hydroton
buy nutrients
buy water pump and plastic tubing
buy flood and drain adapters
germinate seed
plant seed in hydroton
mix nutrients to correct ppm
check and adjust pH daily
add hydrogen peroxide daily
(optional step of creating your own microrganism tea to stave off algae and root rot every week)
clean reservoir and mix nutrients weekly
harvest weed
if you don't keep up on reservoir maintenance at least three times a week, the plants die
if you use too much nutrients, the plants die
if your power or water pump goes out, the plants die

I have only grown indoor and outdoor in soil. I have gotten great results and tastey buds by soil, but I think that there is just way too much for me to do for hydro. You might get more and faster, but I am just to lazy and cheap to spend all the money required to run hydro. Plus, I just don't have the space. It could just be personal preference, but I have seen alot of people who grew in soil and switched to hydro and said that they would never change back so take that for what it's worth.
