Hydro w/out Nutes??

Is it possible or will the plant die?

If the plant will die, how long from germination can it go with just water+oxygen+light?

I will be using the bubbleponics system (bubblers + light water on rockwool) and will use pH balanced water initially...

I want to use Nutes obviously, but I'm thinking I will use hardly any from start-up. And since I might be out of town during the initial week, I was thinking I might use NO NUTES for the first week or so until I can get back and then get the nutes in and properly re-pH balance it, etc..

FYI, I grew in soil w/out any nutes and it turned out OK - then again, the Soil was some good organic soil with lots of stuff in it, so perhaps that made all the difference?

I had a seedling growing for 3 weeks w/out nutes. Just phed water. It started to turn a light green. I read on here I should start nutes. I did at 1/4 strength. Actually less than 1/4 strength and it is greener and growing. IT might get stressed if you go too long w/out nutes. My growth was so slow, if a tall, w/out it.

Oh ok, well like I said, it will just be the initial week. I'm glad to hear you did 3 weeks w/out nutes - I know I'm safe.

I do realize in Hydro there's essentially no way to get nutes into the plant w/out nutes in the water - there's no soil to help compensate for what the H2O lacks.

THANKS!

Even in hydro you don't want to give the little buggers nutes for about 3 weeks anyway. They do just fine on ph adjusted water until then.
