Hydrofarm Hood With Lumatek Ballast

Just got a Lumatek ballast. And have a Hydrofarm hood rated for 400w or 600w.
HOWEVER the hydrofarm air cooled hood says that it is ONLY to be used with a Hydrofarm Ballast.

Is this a safety issue or a marketing trick? Or both!

also, just making sure - that fat bulb is MH and the skinny bulb is HPS?

Hydrofarm just wants you to but their ballast. You wont have any problem other than possibly needing an adapter if the plug type is different.

Google BAASP plug..

Only thing that won't make it work. Will be the plug on the light? To the ballets.

Not sure if they match up?

Its a adapter that's got the ss plug on one end and hf on the other end.. idk y it wouldn't work.
