Hydroponic grow setup (help needed)

Some kind of reference for ya.
Yeah damn the difference is huge. Gonna keep them pretty small then. Didn't know the res needs to be changed so often, I guess at least twice every two weeks should be the minimum then. Any tips on what to cut the holes with? It seems like my only option would be a 50€ saw and I really wouldn't want to spend that much. Thanks for all the info btw! :)

It you try to grow 2 plants in there you're most likely going to end up with 1 dead plant and a dominant plant or end up with 2 mediocre plants that compete with each other for space. lll attach a photo of 2 week old plants and a picture of plants in flower that were vegged for 5 weeks in hydro
I agree. My small space was great for one plant. Decided to try two plants and the faster growing one got most light and they were smooshed together causing the middles to be unhealthy. Ended up getting more weight with one plant over two.

I'm considering doing only 1 but it's a shame my hydro setup is for 2 so it limits the space doing only 1 or do u think I could train it and maximize the space?

If you have never grown, growing one plant will be better to learn. It is surprising how big a plant can get, even the smallest of the autoflower strains. Although you should just do whatever you want. It really is the best way to learn, then you can see what works and what doesn't.

You can get the same yield from 1 plant or 2 plants in the same size space if you utilize the full space. Your just going to need to veg longer and train if you go with one plant in that space. If you choose to go with 2 plants, then you cut your veg time significantly due to cabinet size restrictions and you will get to a 12/12 light schedule quicker. Flipping to 12/12 when you are 1/3 of your max height is a good rule of thumb to go with since most plants stretch an average of 2-3 times their height in the first 2-3 weeks of flower.
Example:
Your max plant size you can accomodate in your box is 30" so you will want to flip from veg to flower when your plant is 10" tall.

Ok, thanks a lot for the info! I think I'm just gonna go with 2, keep them small and I won't have to do much training and risk fkn it all up :P

I'm still saying 1 plant for the win but at the end of the day it's your time and money. I have a feeling you'll look back in 3 months and tell yourself "I really wish I would have listened to those people that were telling me to run 1 plant." Lol, best of luck to you. Happy growing.

I use hole saws to cut all my holes, I also do construction as a profession so I have tools like that available. In the past I've used a jig saw For holes but it takes time and patience to get a decently round hole. Jigsaw is pretty versatile and you can buy a cheap one for about $20usd with a couple different blades at any big box store or local hardware. Just remember to to use a large drilll bit to start on the edge of the hole you want to make so you're able to get the jigsaw blade into the wood and go slow with the jigsaw blade so you don't break it.
