Whats up guys! Recently assembled this set up(my first hydro set up) and just wanted to know what you guys think of it. Any comments or advice would be much appreciated:)

there are a hundred litres of water at the bottem with a pump that distributes the solution to each plant. The pressure is very low basically dripping out. The nutrients(two packets that i got from my local nursery)mixed in a glass, one spoon of each per 20l is what they told and needs to be refreshed every 5 weeks. There are two 85w CFL lights. The plants have been vegging for about a week and a half.

im pretty happy with the outcome so far let me hear your thoughts
peace

So is the water just sitting in the bottom of that galvanized chest? How is your humidity? Are the plants sharing the same soil? Are you using anything to move air? What is the temp of your res water? Are you circulating/aerating the water?

Yes the water is at the bottom. There are three trays which stand above the water with a grid attached underneath them, the water runs through back into the res. Each tray holds two plants and they are separated. There are mostly rocks that fill up the trays and ive placed perlite in the middle. Ill be installing two fans one on each side and adding an air pump. The humidity should be alright ill be getting a gauge soon as well.

Strongly suggest changing from a galvanized to a Sterilite. Not a good choice at all.

I agree, the chest might not be the best growroom. Air movement is a must. It might work for seedlings, but the height of the grow will be a problem as well.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I should have mentioned this before, I started this system with those drawbacks in mind. Theres nothing id like more than to grow these plants to a decent length unfortunately the key component of this system was to be as discrete as possible. I really have to keep it on the down low with regards to the bulls#@t laws against this beautiful plant in my country so I thought the chest would be pretty useful. I cleaned it out thoroughly before I filled it. I was also worried of the impact that the galvanized chest would have on the plants but as far as I can tell the plants are going strong and looking very healthy. The average vertical growth is about 1.75cm a day. The plants have very short internodes, It looks like they are mostly indica dominant.

I would really just love to not spend so much money on buying weed when I can just grow for myself so im hoping for the best ill just have to wait and see how the system and plants play out. Its definitely a very interesting project just for curiosities sake seeing if and how well they will grow in this system.

Im finishing my indoor step up now and going to start a third which is either going to be hydro or indoor time will tell.

Peace:bigjoint:

I like what you did. Thinking about doing a small hydro and soil grow.
