Hydroponic startup help/what tools do i need?

I recently ordered a superbox from supercloset and am receiving a lot of hydroponic tools for success, however I thought I'd ask the real experts what tools I need.

It comes with a TDS meter, net cups, a 4.5 liter/min air pump, a 132 gal/hour water pump, and some ph control kits. I also have one of those three-in-one hydrometer/ph/light meters that I could use. Basically, I'm wanting to know if I need any other tools that would help me out, as I have soil growing down pretty well but would like to try out hydroponics and don't want to really goof anything up. Any help would be VERY appreciated!

I am a first timer at hydroponics and i went with dwc, my grow has gone far better than i ever thought, so what i am saying is if you need any help regarding being a noob to hydropoonics/dwc chcek my thread out.............https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/448220-continuing-my-grow-here.html loads of people have gaven me some really good information from this site and my knowledge is in there some were as well lol, but serisouly mate my thread i think is excellent for a noob on hydroponics/dwc
Good luck and if i could help more ask away.

It comes with technaflora nutes galore, but I happen to have the full line of Earth Juice that I'd like to be using. Really, my main focus is making sure I don't nute burn the plant and if there is any "amazing" tool that I don't know about. Thanks a lot so far, and wiimb I'm checking out your thread asap.

Thanks pal. :)
I was a bit worried about over nuting also, but what i found helped was quarter strength and slowy increased it through time.

I'll have to do that. I'm really torn right now between using the entire technaflora lineup that it shipped with (I mean... everything that company offers, I'm rather impressed) or trying to go with Earth Juice. I've been using EJ in my soil and it produced some pretty phenomenal growth, but I'm a little afraid of trying it on hydroponic. I think the greatest thing I'll have to get used to is, since it is a single container system, is dumping the stuff out every so often. I still gotta read more on that.

Ill try and explain what i do daily with my plants, bare with me lol!! :)

Right; i check the readings i taken from the day before and i the check in each bucket there ph, ppm. work out what i water/nutes i need to add. example; if my ppm was 850 one day and then it was 680 the next day, i would add how ever many litres she drank with new water and nutes. but sometimes the readings are hard to understand sometimes, like take yesterday for example, i checked my ppm on my big plant and i was 1103, way too high, which ment she has only drank water and no nutes, she needed 6 ltrs added so i added 2 ltrs mixwater with nutes and 4 ltrs plain water, ppm went down to 800-850, (cant rember the exact reading)
some times your ppm will tell you that the nute mix is too strong but sometimes it dosen't always ball down to the reading you get its down to how the plant looks also.
My big plant in my mind loves stress, i know that sounds mad, but she can handle outrages ppm and ph swase and ways and there was once i fimmed her 20 odd times with in 10mins came back the next day and were i had fimmed the results had already started going wild. i thought they were no way that i could do what i have done, but after a few weeks of you doing there readings and getting used to how much the drink you will be fine and get used to it so easy and you dont even realise how easy it is till a few weeks in lol
I can look in my buckets and just look and say she needs 4 ltrs or 3ltrs or 1 ltr etc....... and i am right every time as i see the water level diffenrces ever day and get so used to it, its like a 6 sense lol
Hope that make sense

I'm sorry man, I didn't follow that description that well. I'll just ask if it gets kinda easy to figure out if you need to add water or nutes, and how often you have to throw out the water and/or clean out the container. As well, if I do dump the water, what do i do to prevent the roots from drying or any stress?

Sorry you dint understand but if ppm reading go up means less nutes, if it goes down add more nutes, you'll get to know your plant over time.
i change my buckets once a week or if the water starts smelling or mucky then ill change also.
When i take my bucket away from my plant i just put the plant in another 5 gallon bucket until the other bucket is cleaned and then put it back in the orignal bucket.

I see you're one of those soil people who is being amazed by the power of your first hydro grow. Very nice.

Yes, in terms of vigor, strength, size, and resiliency, hydro plants are on a level way beyond soil. But don't get too wild with abusing her. It could effect quality of finished bud. Just because the plants can take a lot more in hydro, you shouldn't necessarily dish it. Concentrate on keeping a steady dialed in environment... no wild numbers fluctuations.

I'm sorry if this information is in the thread already.

What is a superbox? Can we get pictures? It would also help to know what kind of hydro application it will be... DWC? Aero? Ebb flow?

But anyway, sounds like a pretty complete starter kit. You'll have success with all the great advice here I'm sure.

Yeah, I always look at a person's grow before commenting. You're doing well it looks like. So you never started on soil? Pure water grower, huh? Same here. I only know soil plants are super slow, small, and prone to insects from all the soil journals I've read. Lol.

This is in the hydro section, so I feel a little safer about bad-mouthing dirt farming. Lol.

I totally agree about the insects and soil, thats one of the main reason i turned to hydro and slag soil of as much as you can, i mind its pooh, but other people think hydro is pooh, but fuk it everyone to there own i say.

yeah, yeah. I ain't one of those hydro guys that goes around fighting with soil growers. Because I've seen awesome soil harvests and must give mad props to soil pros every time. I also think a soil grown bud by a master tastes and smells better than even good hydro.

But completely aside from the bugs, hydro grows twice as big in half the time. That means twice the harvest twice as fast. Nuff said.

The supercloset is one of the stealth grow boxes advertised here, it's basically a box with carbon-filtered ventilation, lights, and a whole setup included. My simple explanation doesn't do it much justice, though, the things are phenomenal for anyone with some cash in pocket and willing to drop some extra scratch to know that your box will be well made, durable and light/air tight. The exhaust fan is strong enough to pull more than enough to prevent the passive intakes from "leaking" air back out.

http://www.supercloset.com/index.php?c=products

I don't wanna sound like a shill, but I'm really impressed and it is well worth the guarantees also provided by the company. I think I have a discount referral if you've the cash to drop on it, guess i should look around to see if it's a webcode or something.
