Hygrometer's recommendation ? ?

I smoked high end cigars for quite a few years so keeping them well stored was a priority..I only used analog hygrometers, I never liked buying batteries and the meters would start giving false readings( possibly losing calibration?) as the batteries got weaker.Buy them at a dedicated cigar shop and don't buy the cheapest ones. They can be calibrated, usually wrap in a wet facecloth or put in a damp plastic bag, wait a couple hours , then set it to around 95-97%..if i remember correctly..there are instructions online, or they usually come with the meter. Most of the ones I had came with some double sided tape and would fit perfectly on the underside of a mason jar lid..stick it on and close it up..or if you don't want to have to remove the lid to read it , just stick it against the side of the jar inside then fill with bud. You really don't need anything super accurate..if you can keep within a 10%RH range that's all you really need.

The hygrometer cap aka Cure Cap is the best option. It is the no fuss, reliable and cheaper way to measure moister in a jar. The same company sells reliable already calibrated analog and digital hygrometer for cheap. Get 6 digital hygrometers for around $20 http://www.cureand.com/

I have an acu rite 2 in 1 humidity tester and wide mouth 1 quart mason jars! The tester fits right down inside the mason jar but takes up half the jar! I also have a 4 quart glass jar with a rubber sealed clasp type top! I was wondering if I put the tester down in the bottom of the 4 quart and fill it 90% and seal it for 12 hours just to get the RH percentage for the bulk of my bud? Then once I know the RH is in that 65%rh zone, take the nugs back out and put them into the one quart jars again for the rest of my cure! will that work or will the RH be different because the size differences of the containers? I've always gotten a pretty decent cure with the one quart mason jars wide mouth but this is my first time using a hygrometer.I do not drive and do not have the time to go and order 8 or 10 more rh testers on Amazon they will not get here in time and I only have the one tester! I will be ordering them though for my next harvest, but I'm just trying to see if I can test the RH on my whole yield in the one large container and then disperse it back into the smaller containers just for this cure instead of only filling the small containers halfway and having 30 half-filled containers that I have to use one tester on!
