Hygrozyme Reviews anyone?

Just started using Hygrozyme in my DWC bucket, have 12 plants sexing right now in 4gal water with 6 airstones (cant upload pics but there are plenty of my setup in my journal). I've had a little bit of slime on the roots towards the end of the week before I change the water, nothing much, and have had pretty good new growth. But the guy at the Hydro store recommended Hygrozyme, so I started using it and noticed a lot more brown slime on my roots ever since then. Anyone had this issue with this product before? Think I'm going to pick up some microorganisms tomorrow to add.

if its the same as cannazyme its good stuff but your going to need to keep you temps in check and up airflow

pomdzyme- much cheaper and better.

This product is compatible with beneficial organisms like piranah, etc.?

hands down it is better than greatwhite. and much cheaper.
its called pondzyme with barley

greatwhite is far as im aware a beneficial fungus and the rest are enzyme products so they can not be compared

Hit the nail on the head. The 2 products are apples/oranges. Hygrozyme is an enzyme product. Great white is a combination of mycorrhizal fungi, bacteria and trichoderma. I use it once every 2 weeks in the garden. Also put a real light solution of it in my cloner. Once root growth starts the great white seems to really make them explode.

all you need to do is read the main label, beneficial bacteria, stated right on it. 19 different kinds.

Looks like pond zyme does have 5 bacterial strains on top of being an enzyme product. For the price it seems like a no brainer that I at least give it a shot, seems to me it would be more beneficial than Hygrozyme. But since I still have a liter or so of Hygro I'm going to run one bucket with Hygrozyme, one with Pondzyme and one with both to see the results.

Yes! Do that, and make a thread because I'd love to see the side-by-side results on that test.

Hygrozyme is a product which emulates the action of many beneficial bacteria/ fungi without actually having a large population like most other bennies products have. It has most of the enzymes and little of the actual live material. This is why its perfect for DWC/hydro imo. I have used it since I first started hydro and noticed a few interesting things:1. Hygrozyme will fuck your shit up if you already have a large population of bad bacteria/fungi. (Tends to lean the reactions towards feeding that bad shit.) 2. With high levels of nutes (> 1.0-1.5 EC) It will cause a silght ph spike. (What I can theorize is that since the enzymes help break down dead root matter and organic material back into their elements it creates an overabundance of food and the plant responds by lowering the pH to prevent further uptake- I'm no scientist, but thats what happened, every time, with me.) 3. You don't need it- If you are maintaining your root temps and food levels/ pH and changing your reservoir enough.. your plant/s have all the things they need to create a good defense system...added silica and root zone temp control is much better then enzymes at keeping your plants healthy. I have it now but don't think I'll buy it again when I run out.

i have to agree that its not needed in those cases but after two years of just maintaining temp (and using silica) i added a beneficial and the root difference was immediate. huge difference, and this was evident in plant size and yield. they were just happier and healthier.

Something I have noticed on every thread relating to this stuff, people are following the recommended dosage of 8-10ml per gal. This is confusing as in the UK a gal is 4.54 litres and US is 3.78. As far as I'm aware it's UK made so anybody reading the label in the US would be over dosing by 20% if that makes sense?

I just started using it after trying both cannazym and sensizym to resolve my issues. Out of the 3 products this is by far the best so far (new root growth in 24hrs) but it's only been 2 days. Fingers crossed I don't get slimed!!!

I'm only using 4-6 ml in 3 gallons which houses all my plants for the next few days ubtil sexing is over. I have noticed the pH increase from hygrozyme. Just added a little pondezyme to the res to see how that goes, will be changing the res Monday.I'm having an extremely hard time keeping res temp down. It's around 70 degrees F, and a frozen water bottle or ice pack lasts for ohhhh... About an hour before its no longer effective. I feel like the roots are having great growth, then dying back, then growing again, etc.

See my bottle has the exact same dosing directions but says right on the bottle "NOT FOR SALE OUTSIDE THE USA" so I assumed it was a US gallon. Why does America have to be so difficult! But I'm only using 3-5 ml per gallon so I should be right on the light dose i was going for then.

What do you do to maintain a cool res temp? I'm trying ice and frozen bottles but neither is working for long. I think that may be my biggest issue I'm at 70 degrees F. Also I'm using growstones which are proposed to have silica in them wether or not its enough to make a difference I don't know.

Alright should be moving my plants into their 3gal buckets tomorrow or Monday. I'll be splitting them half hygrozyme, half pondzyme. And splitting each of those with bacteria/no bacteria. So 4 groups will make up the experiment... Pondzyme with and without OrganismXL and Hygrozyme with and without. I'll post a link to that thread as soon as I start it.
