Bush had 2 idiotic (imo) wars and nearly a Trillion dollar TARP bill in his last year. He was turrible, just turrible. Saying Obama is not quite as bad is akin to your participation trophy for coming in 2nd to last in badminton. It's most definitely not a reason to let him keep coming not quite sucking as bad for another 4 years, his budget numbers were rigged for AFTER this election.

In my opinion Obama is a far cry better than Bush.

The things I disliked about Bush, the wars;
we are still in Afghanistan and have 5000 hired mercs in Iraq
The Patriot Act; Obama added cell phones because it didn't go far enough
No Child Left Behind; Obama did improve this, but then race pandered right before the election
Medicare expansion without paying for it; Obamacare....ew
The silly war on drugs; oman, this one was really unexpected how things have turned for the worse.

I really don't see far cry better. I'd rather have a beer with Biden than Cheney though and it's not even close. I felt Cheney was the man pulling the strings, I see Biden as pulling strings on a sweater to see what happens.

In sort, there is hope, beleagered as it is in a Democrate run country. the same cannot be said for a party that insists that if only we keep doing failing things maybe things will get better.

Let that roll around a bit in your head and you'll understand why 4 more years is a bad idea.

he also said hed close guantanamo - it has undergone a 'significant' expansion in recent years. Politicians are all the same mind, the next fucker will be the same - the president himself is just a scapegoat.
This is largely true, however, in the end POTUS either signs legislation into law, or slaps a veto on that shit and forces congress to either get the votes to pass it, or let it die. So, while POTUS is not solely responsible for the fucked up shit that has been going down these past 12 years, POTUS certainly shares much of the blame, and should be held responsible and accountable for facilitating fucked up legislation.

We have completely FAILED, as a nation, to select individuals that view their position as a duty to the nation, and instead, have empowered individuals who view their positions as an OPPORTUNITY.....for themselves. "We" get the government "we" allow, and deserve.

This is akin to my promising my children that I will bring them home an icecream cake but on the way I encounter a horrible accident and I manage to help save the lives of those involved. When I finally get home and the cake is all melted my kids say "but you PROMISED", "you LIED", "You aren't a good dad at all"
He knew he couldn't keep the promise, yet he promised it anyways....

True I'm sure. He would have said anything to get ellected. Still in that regard no different than any other politician. But it is understandable to see so many angry about it. These guys who say anything to get ellected should face a backlash from it, otherwise they will all keep doing it.

What happened between the time that he made that promise and getting elected? Oh wait, he said this after getting elected...

What was his "car accident"? It's more akin to seeing an accident, calling the kids promising a cake and then driving straight home and blaming it on Bush...LOL!

Again, why make a promise that you know full well that you can't keep?

It's all about accountability and the lack thereof. When they stop getting away with it, then things will change.

I think we do this when Mr. Family Values is caught with hookers and blow receiving much more backlash than somebody who doesn't run on that. I just wish the media were more consistent because Mr. Transparency has been anything but.

I understand people cheering for the health care bill because they were told it was something it wasn't by people who had no clue what was in it. When you start to dissect it you realize it's almost as if the insurance companies, pharmaceuticals and hospital corporations got together to figure out how to maximize profits.

Having said that, not being as bad as the last guy, while being a good start, is not a reason for 4 more years. Especially when he's caught on tape telling Putin to wait until after the elections so he doesn't have the people to answer to.

1.5% GDP growth and 40 months of over 8% unemployment when we were sold a bill of goods to prevent us from going that high. Ann Romney's horse could have done the same (and been better than Bush).

The hyperbole is fun Gin, but in truth, Romney's horse could not have done as well, I believe you may see that few could have done as well, I am certain that Mccain could not have done as well.

I don't care if anyone cheered for the health care bill at all, it was the only one that has ever been passed and (right now at least) everyone agreed that we needed something. I know many who jeer the health care bill because they were told certain things were in it that were not - rationing and death panels for starters. The concept that anyone or anything would be better than we have now has gotten folks into trouble for a very long time. Until I see Romney's plan put forward I can't know if a new guy would be any better. What I do know is that his tax plan is certainly not better for anyone but the very rich. I am not among that number.

Not only did the Republicans block the transfer of prisoners to USA facilities
They bragged about it
Either you are grossly misinformed or telling a straight up lie.
It was democrats in congress that came up with the bill to block the Justice department from transferring prisoners to American facilities and trying them in a federal court, it was part of the Omnibus bill.

[h=1]"Democrats Added Ban On Gitmo Detainee Transfer To Omnibus Spending Bill"
[/h]
"According to sources on both sides of the House Appropriations Committee, which had purview over the legislation, the bill was written entirely by the Democratic side. It was revealed to Republicans only hours before the vote. No amendments were allowed on the House floor. No Republicans voted for it.

And, the committee sources said, the White House would have seen the final package — including the transfer ban — and would have had the chance to object.
The White House did not respond to requests for comment."

I'm not really sold on Romney either, he seems fake to me. Deficits are taxes, just a different word, what we are doing now is not working, let's try something else. I wish Gary Johnson got more pub so we knew more about him. I heard him described as a 21st century Paul. A guy who believes in both personal liberty AND scientific evidence. So far to me, he sounds like the logical choice.

This health care bill is going to let the Hospital corp's, rich doctors, drug companies and insurance companies rape us. After all the oil companies did it so we should be nice and loose by now.

I know you believe in Keynesian economics. Let me pose this question to you. If I were president and passed the same size stimulus aimed at strictly infrastructure would I have done as well or even better? I believe you should see almost anyone could have done better. What if I had added a public option to the healthcare shitpile?

without a little side to side action I barely feel it anymore
