I noticed tonight that at some point while bending this stem to keep it under my scog net that I broke it. I am 3 weeks into 2000w veg. I am not sure if I should top it or let it be. I may flip the switch in a couple days.
Any thoughts?

I say let grow. When LSTing I often break stems. If the plant is healthy then it will grow back the broken tissue. It should be fine, but it will start to grow sideways.

wrap just the affected area with electrical tape/sports wrapping for about a week, it will heal, and just like scar tissue it will be a big bulge and stronger than before.

I have heard it will form a knuckle and be stronger, I hadn't heard the elctrical tape thing though. Cool, can you use duct tape?

no worries. i do things like that all the time when one part of the plant is too tall, and i want an even canopy. just leave it for a few days. the break will close up

yeah they will be fine check dis out

i hope you didnt tape it yet, they missed a critical step imo. before taping wrap gauze or paper towel or something around the stem and THEN wrap the tape around the paper towel/gauze/whatever. that way in 2-4 weeks when its healed you can just snip the tape off easy as can be. it is nearly impossible to get the tape off if you wrap it directly on the stem itself however.you want the stem to still be able to fatten up still later on.

I haven't taped it yet. I was thinking about putting gauze under it. Thanks for the tip.
Does it really take 3-4 weeks to heal? I don't want to wait that long to flip the switch?

wait a week to toss into flower, by then it should be healed pretty much, but leave the tape on another week give or take a few days after that to be safe.healing time depends on the severity of the break and what stem that broke too, yours doesnt look too severe so 2 weeks should be more than enough time. I was talking in general up top, not your specific case. if it was the main stem or a very severely broke branch it can take 3-4 weeks to fully recover. sorry if i confused ya up there.

Thanks and I am sure you are right. I will hold off for another week. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but sounds like good advice. :wall:

Here is a pic of the bandage

That's what i'd say just so it gives it a bit more support and will give it a chance to heal a little better and like he says it will be stronger then before it's just like pinching the bottom of the stem it swells up and in turn making it stronger standing and i believe for it to help the roots so it can suck up more water or whatever
