I did a bad thing...I don’t regret this thing I’ve done

HLG solid ass company for sure. A ballast went recently on my 260w kit and I emailed them at like 11pm first thing in the AM I saw a tracking no. In my email. No questions. Just here's the replacement.

Their lights are just pricey compared to DIY options. I could have over 3500w of bridgelux eb gen 3 strips

So far customer service has been great.they gave me a discount and free super expensive glasses.
So I start hanging the fixture and luckily I was holding the unit because the mounting gear they gave me crapped out. The metal wasn’t pinched enough and the cable slipped out.
I’ll be able to fix it but that upset me a little. Could have damaged my brand new light or the plants underneath it View attachment 4844896
Both gave out not even just one
You should let @Stephenj37826 know. I'm sure he'd like to know that.

That's awesome they sent you the new Method Sevens though. Congrats on the light. I love all my HLG lights.

So far so good just got a few small ones in here now. got it up high around 27 inches and at about 40% power.
I’ve only got a cheap lux meter currently but Ill be ordering a decent par meter tonight.Great spread and cool to the touch!
There’s two Afghani#1-Sensi,Maltezerz-g13 labs and a godberry from FOS.
I had yellow sticky traps in here last week as a precaution(house plants had gnats).
The fans blew the leaves into them and I damaged them trying to unstick‍♂
Just doing some lst and filling out a bit before flip.

averaging 15,000 Lux at 40%power at 27 inches I’ll be interested to get some par measurements.

That’s why I run an old 250 Philips Retrofit 4000k with white LEDs. UV and IR and I have a half dozen NIB bulbs as well as a couple 400w new. Bulbs were made March 2013. Seems plants are happier and trichs more well developed. Running now about a year. Nowhere near the light output of better LEDs though.

I found chain link and S hooks a better solution for hanging my small LED light.

Hi mate, What are the readings from 12 inches at the very centre of the fixture where there are no diodes?

I can give you some lux readings but I don’t have a par meter ATM my friend is going to bring one over and I’m doing some research about finding a decent apogee in Canada.

I’m only running 40% power do you want some different intensities at 12 inch?

I picked up the scorpion rspec recently. Couldnt bring myself to spend those last couple hundred. What a beast of a light, can’t imagine the Diablo.
I ditched those flimsy cable right away and went for chains. Even back up chains direct to the ceiling in case the ratchet straps break. Cheap insurance!!

Ya it’s disheartening they include such cheap mounting cables. With top of the line lights.

I was hoping to wake up to a email today from Hlg, still nothing.
I told them about my experience and just wanted to warn them so they can avoid problems like this in the future.
Included pictures of the broken cables.

anyways I’ve got aagogee mq-100 on its way I’ll get some better measurements in the future.

That does not make me happy about HLG. I will spend my 10 grand elsewhere then.

yeah, if I was spending 10k on lights I’d base my decision on the mounting cables and not the performance or efficiency.
Ahaha ya there’s more serious things to worry about that’s for sure. but when you buy a light that’s more than the average persons rent you would hope the cables they include hold the thing
