^You'll have to wait a little longer, man. Root rot isn't a common problem, plus, many of us are soil growers, and can't offer any solid advice. I'd like to be able to say "yes" for sure, because I believe you are right, but I'm not certain. Don't worry, somebody who's experienced root rot, will come along, soon enough.
Definitely, that looks bad.
Make sure you invest in a quality nutrient system next time, and include a "zyme" product, Canna, AN, Humboldt Nutrients. Definitely change your reservoir weekly, keep everything spotless, and maybe upgrade your air pumps and stones for better aeration around the roots.
beneficial bacteria aka mycorrhizae and canazym will help also more air. watch ur ph also root rot likes alkaline or a high ph so keep it around 5.5 o yea and yes it is root rot but ull b okay if you act soon. whats the plant look like?
