I don't know when to harvest

Hi! I am a new grower and this is my first plant ever. I used water and sunlight only (used nutrients once and had nutrient burn). From what I've read online I think that my main stem is ready to harvest (Unless my pistills are dark from heat or something like that instead of the plant maturing) but there's like three other colas growing below that have the pistils pretty white. I don't know if I should wait and harvest the whole plant or to do selective harvesting (Also sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my main language). I appreciate any advice for this plant and for future growing as well.

Hi! Should I harvest the whole plant? I don't think the three lower buds are ready. I've read about selective harvesting so I'm thinking about harvesting only the main stem. Thanks! Pretty excited to see (smoke) the outcome haha
 
That's what i do many times, I'll just cut certain branches and leave the rest of the plant. Other times i just hack the whole thing down. It's up to you, this is your growing adventure...i suggest you follow your heart, there's something telling you to only harvest main stem, then do that...and you can watch what happens to the rest and learn more.

Is there anything you recommend? Or is it safe just to cut the stem and leave it like that?
 
No not really, there is a long held belief that you should cut in the morning before lights on, but meh i dont care about that, i cut whenever. Yes it is safe to just cut stem and leave it like that.

Selective harvesting is OK. Cut a bud that looks sort of like it is ready to harvest, put it under a fan for 24 hrs or so and light up.
