I have watch three or four interviews with the Georgian President. The man speaks English but it is not exactly fluent. The emotions of behind his words, however, are completely conveyed. I feel that this man is genuine. He does not have that fake smile I'm accustomed to seeing in world leaders. In the last interview I watched of him I saw a geniune look of worry on his face. He plead to the American audience something along the lines of What is at stake here is freedom. The country of Georgia was invaded and their people have been killed. The Georgians are not only a democracy loving people but they are our allies. We attacked Iraq and Afghanistan (both soverign nations). We did so because George Bush promised us all that we would not be cowards in the face of Terrorism or the threat of it. We attacked them because "terrorists" were destroying and endangering our freedom and liberty. But now, the Russians are terrorizing the Georgians and what? We cower now? I know it is dumb to provoke a nuke toting country. But we are the only country to use that capability. We are. And we are afraid? Why is it that we demand that we be safe but give the ok for other HUMAN BEINGS to be bombed and killed. Why do attack poor terrorists? Why don't we attack bigger more capable militaries? That question is rhetorical. You don't attack competent militaries. And if you do, you attack their weakest point. So what is my point here? The point is that America does not defend liberty, we do not defend freedom. We are bullies. That comes along with prosperity I suppose. But what is the point of bullying the world? I believed George Bush when he said that people would pay for 9-11. I was in my 8th grade art class when the second plane hit. I believed that Iraq had something to do with it. I was a freshman then I believe. I'm now turning 21 and I'm seeing the world as it is. It is not about Republican or Democrat anymore. Do you realize that we are fighting each other every four years and electing conmen for our offices? Do you realize that we are trading our rights in for more fears? Shouldn't goverments be afraid of us? Shouldn't they be the ones that can't sleep at night and have to take Lunesta? Our officials don't even care about us. Why are we all fighting? We aren't we revolting? Where are our pitchforks and torches? Extremists and freedom fighters were our nations ancestors. When are we going to take our country back? Venezuela did. We can too. It is up to all of us to remember what values we actually stand for.
