If female plants produce bud (woohoo) and male plants produces seeds, that will royally screw over female plants..

Then why do people still grow male plants?

If you grow a plant and its a male, do u just say f**k it, and let it die? As you only want female plants right?

Clarification would be nice!

in your sinsimellia garden, you do not want any males.

if you are trying to make seeds or cross strains, you need the males.

but thats not 100% true either because you can use hormones to make a female produce feminized seeds - clones of itself in seed form.

ah okay, so next question.. i buy seeds from a website, how do i know ill get a female plant? Thats like 40$ down the train lol, well i guess i have 10 tries right? 10 seeds.. 10 tries. who knows, even if i get 1 female its worth the investment right?

And how can you tell what you've got? And how long does it take in order to tell?

The avid grower never wants to see a male and it should be dealt with immediately.

The male plant produces sex organs that release pollen and fertilizes any willing female:lol:. He even fertilizes himself:sad:.

you can order feminized seends that will be 99% female

otherwise yes, nature is rolling the dice for you on # of females. But if you get one, you're solid. just clone it and those will all be female. to sex your plants most people will grow them out until they can take some clones, they will take clones and then flower them. or flower the original plants. once a plant is flowering you can identify sex. throw out the males, and the clones that came from the males.

It means whatever you want it to mean. You could chop it up, burn it in a fire (haha), whatever you really want to do, just get rid of the prick. He'll cause nothing but problems for your grow room.

Okay i googled em.


So you can tell within the first 2-3 weeks usually?


And say i have a female, how long do i let it grow, watering it and all, until i turn the lights of for 12 hrs , or put a bag over it if outside, for 12 hrs, then light back on for 12 hrs to induce flower producing...

And when you do start doing that, when do you stop?

you start flowering whenever you want really. the average strain will triple in size from the time you switch to 12/12.

so if your plant is 12'' when you start 12/12 it will be 3' around finish.

if it is 18" it will be 4.5'

veg accordingly.

you will stop flowering when the plant is mature, when your trichs start to fade from clear to amber.

this can be as short as 45 days for some strains and as long as 14 weeks for others. indicas tend to finish shorter and sativas take longer. it is proportionate to the natural climate of the plant.
the avg strain finishes in about 5-9 weeks.

All i ask is for £1 or $1 to be donated from any profit made from your females.
Give these gentlemen somewhere where they can be loved. lol

well i never bought seeds but i got 6 seeds out of bags i bought and 5 were female so you should be able get a few and if not most places should replace them and it took only a week into flowering till i could tell which was male
