i looked at the plant problem section their was 23 people and here 130 something

i thought i have greater chances of getting a responce here

im growing in soil under 250w sys one of them should be seeded up i pollenated twice a week apart

plants in week 7 of a 8 to 9 term flowering nicely i had planed to let seeded one go for 10 weeks for seed development

anyway ihad a spyder myte situation in 1 of two diesel ryders i sprayed them up and down with niem oil einsteins

it said to do it again in 3 days instead i turned plant upside down and dunked the hole plant

i cant wait to go down and look at it the morning after today

is what i did good bad or going to work or not going to work if you have experience or knowledg and the patients
please share

much thanks my brothers

you shouldn't use spraying products on flowers. if early enough, you can wash them off without having to worry about mold issues.

however, mites are nasty, but generally don't destroy your crop. a few grams here and there may need to be tossed, but the mites die while drying, and the webs are easily removed. buds are left mostly untouched, as it's the leaves that the colony is after...

Spider mites can reduce your yield drastically and even kill your plant if it gets stressed enough.

hippie folk lore. they can eat your leaves, create a canopy of webs (making colas smaller, reducing yields slightly) and i've NEVER seen a plant killed by them, only plants killed by what the grower sprays on them or does to them.

all of my plants flower and get mites, it's unavoidable in the area i live in. i stressed, trying to kill them for a year or two.... now i treat in veg and let them go in flower.

here's a picture of dead plants and drastically reduced bud growth......

indicas

and a shot of drastically reduced yields.....

my mites are unstoppable, can't be eradicated. we now live in harmony, the mites and i, a symbiotic hate/hate relationship

The plant is probably just fine, neem oil is natural and not a herbicide so things should be fine. You can rinse the buds and leaves with water to rinse off residue before you harvest.

you dunked a 7 week flowering plant! wow man! That's a bit drastic. Dunking is very effective, but it is really reserved for clones and small plants in veg, not 7 weeks flowering.

How's it doing after it's bath? LOL

You are a little late to be spraying Neem as well. It takes about 10-14 days to break down, so make sure you let them go at least that long since you sprayed, or you'll wonder why your buds taste/smell weird/nasty!

Try and give your room a really good clean after you harvest, disinfect and scrub everything down. Then as KP said, try and treat for them in veg and early flower with Neem, then just let them go.

Another alternative is mite predadtors as well.

Good luck man. :peace:

I would like to believe you. I am not a hippy nor a folklorist.:eyesmoke: I have plants in veg now that look like 6 foot palm trees because they have lost so much lower foliage to the little bastards. I think I would have gotten much more yeild with all that foliage intact. I'll admit I let them go while I was doing other things (having fun).

That said, I had a harvest similar to yours just a little while ago, all the while battling mites. My weapon of choice is 4% insecticidal soap. Keeping their numbers down is the name of the game. They cannot be eradicated, only struggled against. I'm currently waiting for some clones to root. They came from buggy plants so I dipped the cuttings in 2% soap solution. This is my first year with bugs. Don't know how I was so lucky before.

What is your treatment of choice in veg? Predator mites disappeared without a trace, permethrin is a joke, I haven't tried neem oil yet. The soap works pretty well if you keep applying every 4 days or so.

foggers suck, they don't kill my mites. i use a mixture of dawn dish detergent and neem oil (1/2 tsp dawn, 3tbs neem per liter spray bottle). i only use this mix in veg, and let the mite alone in flower. spraying and tampering with the webs and colony spreads them.

the soap kills the mites, but not the eggs, and the neem forms a protective barrier that they don't want to chew through. like, you, i need to spray about every 4-7 days, just to keep them at bay.

my mites eat predator mites..... lol

insecticidal soap is great, but i hate the smell. nearly any soap will work :).
