I fluked out... what next?

Wow... am I glad I found this site!!!

A few months back, I dropped a bag seed into one of my houseplant pots, and it started growing. But we never really paid any attention. Re-potted when it got too crowded with the fern... and it kept growing. Never used any lights, any nutes, just put it in the window like the rest of the plants and it's still pretty strong.

It's a bit scraggly though, and really tall (likely from lack of proper light). And it started flowering about 2 weeks ago on it's own. Keep in mind... we weren't planning on having this plant... and weren't giving it proper care and attention. Out of curiosity, I trimmed off a little bud and burnt it up... (probly too early I know) but a nice little high, considering it's a fluke.

Now... my little town is out of supply, it's a secluded mountain town, and desperation is setting in. So... seeds are on order and the basement closet is cleaned out. Shopping for lights this week.

In the meantime... is there anything I can do to perk this baby up a bit? Or is it too late? Is it possible to increase the size of the buds at this late stage? Or should I try cloning? Too late for that maybe? Maybe just cut her down and rollitup? Curious what you folks think....

Thanks... I did just that... bought four CFL 30w bulbs, 2 splitters and a couple lamps, now have her under tons of light in a reflective corner and will keep it at 12/12 for a while and see how she does. I also took a cutting to try a clone using the water technique... fingers crossed.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

start feeding it molasses...that will fatten your buds up a bit...1 1/2 tablespoons per gallon of water... use it with your reguler watering schedule....

If you really want some fat buds get some nutes that are lower in nitrogen and higher in phosphorous and potassium. Good brands are Botanicare, Advanced Nutrients, Fox Farms, and many others. You want a "bloom" nute and a flower "booster" or "hardener." Also, a micro nutrient supplement like calmag or AN micro is pretty important too. Sounds like you would have to order off the internet but if you are serious about nice buds and a healthy plant then good nutes are a must.

The molasses is good too.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did add a food stick to the soil about a month ago, split in half and pushed in either side of the plant. Honestly couldn't tell any real growth difference, then again, I wasn't really paying much attention until now. Should I still add some nutes, remove the soggy sticks then add nutes, or just leave it alone?

Either way, I'm gonna try the mollasses idea... sounds crazy enough to work.
