I got bugs in my hydroton rock!!!! What do i do???????

Im using ebb n flow 2gal buckets with mixture of hydroton/clay rock an rockwell granulate/small cube pieces they r about 7weeks into veg an about 10 of the 30 buckets have what looks to be small nats an bugs in the top of the buckets an there also in my roots when u remove the top buckets u can see them all in the roots!!!!! What do i do???? How do i get rid of them???? How did they get there?????? Thanx

try H2O2, fllood the buckets till the stem level with 1ml/L H2O2 30% if this doesnt work, use pesticide mixture, flood rocks with it then flush with water, this will surely work

do i mix that h202 in my rez with the rest of me nuits??? Or by it self???

Sounds like you have fungus nats. Mosquito dunks seems to be popular and effective. Dutch Master Zone (root conditioner) kills worms and bugs as well as any microbes. Also get some sticky strips for the adults. A bowl of red vinegar will also attract and kill some adults. Temporarily, you can put potato slices around and exchange them frequently as the larva infest them. That's about all I can think of.

In addition be sure to keep a clean garden and remove debris that might attract bugs.

no expert grower here by any means, but what worked for me was to use a product called fertilome triple action plus and i mixed per instructions and used it as a drench. i have 5 5 gal buckets so i used one gallon of mixture per bucket, let it set for 20 minutes and flushed the entire system with plain ph'ed ro,added fresh nutes and im good. no bugs now. so what i do now to keep ahead of the problem is i put a mosquito dunks in a pump filter bag to keep that stuff from getting through out the buckets.hope this helps. oh and i have 100 gallons of ro water on hand so if you have hydro, ro and a 55 gallon drum with a float valve is important to have. preventative is key, stop bugs,fungal attack before you have a problem. create perfect conditions for your plants and poor conditions for pests and disease.

Bake it in the oven for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly after it cools. I've never had the problem, but this would be a good cure for it.

in the res is fine. it is 100% effective for larvae, not sure for other pests but i bet it will work

I was told not to use H202 with organic nuits....I'm a noob but I just thought I would say in case, please correct this if it is wrong.

you're perfectly right, but i assumed that he's chemical since he's hydro, there are few organic hydro growers but most use chemical

You are correct. Organics depends on the microlife in the water/medium. H202 will kill it off. Even in hydro, if your nutes use chelating agents, h202 can render them useless.
