The cutting will be going by the same clock as the mother, so even if it does take root it won't have much if any time to grow before it starts to flower. You can't force an auto clone to stay in veg.

Check out this thread if you want to see the play by play on cloning auto's. I did it just for kicks, and things turned out quite the contrary to your statement on the plant's clock. I encourage you to try it.

Don't stress if it doesn't root.. but if it does tho... Showtime! Toss it in a humidity dome, or place a clear plastic cup over it to trap humidity in there. Keep it in a shaded area of the tent, and keep temps warm.

Tried a few times back when I was still growing autos. The one time I managed to get the cutting to root, it flipped shortly thereafter. It ended up being a tiny cola on a twig.
Maybe it depends on the genetics? I am positive I documented the final weight of the clones as well. The biggest clone in 1/2 gal of soil yielded around 70g. Another I left in a cup dried to about 8g.

I have it in the front corner of my tent. I've moved my light twords the back of my tent. I have a cutoff 2 liter coke bottle that I misted the inside of that I put over it.
Being inside the tent is the warmest place in the house. I'll call it a she if it perks up.
