I hav ?'s on trimmin/waterin

So this is my very first time doing all of this.. i started growing my seeds like a month ago but i am just now able to tell the sex of 2 of my plants.. i have 3 plants. i just learned about 12 hour days and 12 hour nites.... but my question is.. my plants are very tall.. but i want them to stay short and "fluffy" I was told by someone to keep trimming the top and they will grow wider instead of taller.. but when can i do this? they are only about a month old.. and if i have a boy in with my females can i just rip him out? or do i need to do it in a special way?... what else do i need to do after they get a certain age/size?? i know nothing about this.. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! lol..oh and one more thing.. am i supposed to "feed" my plants?? And if i am.. wth do i feed them?.

Damn you need to do some research...are you growing indoors? If you want short plants keep the light as close as possible without burning them yes just pull the males out if you want no seeds..Yes you need to feed them nutrients to get the best results. Are you growing soil or hydro? Topping will help keep them short but if you have a sativa they will still get tall on you if its in there genes

You only want to top your plant once, any by top I mean cut off the new leaves that are just growing out of the top, don't cut into the actual branch. Other ways to keep plants short are LST and SCROG. LST is low stress training and you use string to tie the branches down and train them into the direction you want them to grow. Scrog is screen over grown and the keep folding the new growth under the screen so the plant doesn't grow higher than the screen. What'd you mean boy in with your females? they should all be in seperate pots are else they will fight for root space. if in seperate pots then you just take the male and dump the whole pot out. if you haven't already started 12/12 you need to do it soon so they don't get any taller, any make sure that you box has 100% dark when the lights are off. for nutes search "organic fertilizer"
