I do that anyways, it's called cleaning :p

Good luck though!
Nope, can't stand when things are clean. Like, nothing is nasty in my place.. I don't leave food out and shit. But clothes, paper, books, boxes, empty cigarette packs, empty water bottles. I need to have the mess, clean places don't make me feel comfortable. My bedroom has clothes EVERYWHERE I fucking love just randomly grabbing something out of the massive piles and throwing it on. It gives me that sense of freedom and laid back feeling when everything can just be relaxed.

No need to stress over little things like making everything look perfect, stress will send you too an early grave.

I quit smoking cigs about 20 years ago and have been chewing ever since. Goddamn tobacco.
I chewed tobacco for a couple years, back in high school during those long classes lol, water bottle in the book bag to spit in. One of the reason I stopped was the amount that it will stain your teeth, my teeth kept on getting less and less white. I also seen pictures of people that chewed tobacco and caught cancer in their jaw, and had to have their bottom jaw removed. Could you imagine having your bottom jaw missing? you would have to shove food down your throat, no chewing. That's the main thing making me want to quit smoking, the amount of deaths that has to do with smoking cigarettes is unreal. According to my cigarette pack, there was an estimated 45 thousand deaths in Canada from tobacco use alone in 1996.

Haha, for me to tell someone about the concept of cleaning would make me the bigger hypocrite in this century :D If everything i tidy and stored away, how the hell am i gonna find it, if it's all spread over the floor, only takes seconds to find, also means i can find it wiht my feet without having to put any effort into the finding whatsoever :D

The hard part is being around your friends that smoke. I quit chewing for about 6 months ONE time. A buddy came over to slam a few down and had a can with him. It was all over. That fucker.............

I found that keeping chewing mint chewing gum helps fancying a cigarette. Also keeps you kinda focused on the movement.

Nahh I'm going to have to tough it out, I don't eat candy/chew gum.

Plus I only drink water and I'm a vegetarian, I'll just chew on celery or something.

I can't wait to be done with these disgusting things, gotta get out now while I'm still young.

So many people I know in their 40s 50s and 60s that all smoked and about 80% that smoked have emphysema and need oxygen.
5 days without them and I am starting to feel better in my chest already . 2 packs a day for a while and I smoked for over 20 years . They are disgusting and smelly . Cigs make you sick and coughing all the time . I hope to stay with this and hope you do too .

And it will be the last one I smoke for the rest of my life. Many cigarette relapses behind me, but I have a good feeling about it this time.
Does anyone here have any quit stories?

Wish me luck.
I moved to Colorado without a job, and had to choose between spending my money on weed or cigarettes...
I've been high every day :D

sunflower seeds work well. I used wellbutrine (sp?), it's an anti-depressent which makes your mouth dry, and makes cigs taste like a mouth full of garbage. You have zero cravings either.

Once you quit, you will be SO annoyed at people smoking. It makes me nuts, and I smoked a pack and a half of Reds for a long time.

Thank God my State finally got smart and banned smoking in public places....now we can actually go out and not have to shower when we got home, and have our clothes washed that night.

Yuck. Congrats......stick it out. Come here and chat, it'll give you something to do if you need to get your mind off things. I tried to quit a bunch of times.....finally it stuck.....6 yrs without a puff.

I wish you the best of luck. I have tried to quit smoking on numerous occasions over the years, its very hard for me, it has became a lifestyle habit. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. Ive had a lot of friends quit smoking, it did not work out as well when they quit cold turkey. They slowly started cutting back, down to a couple smokes a day, smoke half smokes and what not. Some of them switched over to smoking cigars on occasion, to help with those really bad cravings at times. There is also such things as water vapor cigarettes. They are truly amazing, Completely natural and healthy, its like a plastic cigarette that you put flavored cartridges into, Your only inhaling flavored water vapor, but its all completely natural. The cigarette does not actually burn, just lights up red on the end to appear as a real smoke, They are rechargeable and come in all kinds of kits. They could really help to quit smoking. One last thing I suggest is to stay busy, keep your mind thinking of things other then cigarettes. Substitute a joint every time you want a cigarette, hope that helps, happy toking. :bigjoint:
I did a search for "cigarette", and this thread was one that had the mention of the electronic cigarette. I recently made the purchase of one after tons of reading on them. Now it is not a stop smoking aid, no more so than just cutting down on paper ones till your done. The vapor cigarettes are more healthy alternative to smoking. I thought it was going to be a gimmic. I tried many times to quit over the past 20 years, and failed every time. At least now I can still enjoy smoking without the harmful and "yucky" aspects being there. I bought the "BLU cig" system and rather enjoy it. I encourage those that enjoy smoking, but are always trying to quit for the health aspects to look into e-cigarettes. Try to get one with USP glycerin based juice or vegetable glycerin based, and avoid glycol based versions.
