good choice keebo! i have 3 of the g8led grow light panels - a 450 watt and two 600 watt lights - http://www.dormgrow.com/450-watt-led-grow-light.html
i did my first grow with one and was very happy with the results so i purchased 2 more. you should also add a 90W Red ufo light when you start flowering. it really makes a huge difference that you see within a couple days - here is the link: http://www.dormgrow.com/led-grow-lights-1/led-ufos/90-watt-led-ufo-red.html

i originally decided to take the plunge and go with dorm grow because they truly had full spectrum which included infrared and ultraviolet diodes, good reviews and the best prices. i am so happy i did and am looking to expand my grow area with some of the monster 900 watters
sooo you got pics of the grow ???? would love to see!!!

I also have been using G8LED for 3 grows now. I started with a 600 Watt in a 4x4. Then I got a 240 Watt for my mothers.

I tried to do two 450 watts double stacked in a 36x20 inch tent but it was too much light since I couldn't get them spaced high enough. Some strains did ok for a while. Blue Dream and Agent Orange but my OG and Pure were not happy with too much like so close to them. I Decided to get two more 240 watt lights to use instead.

Moved the 2 450 Watts into my 4x4 with the 600 Watt and two all Red UFOs. Probably too much light for a 4x4 but I don't pay for power because we have a pretty big solar array on the roof. But Honestly even with all that in there its still less actual power draw than a 1000 watt. But I get about as much light as a 2400 watt would produce (if they made such a thing) and I get only the spectrum of light my plants need to grow. I have 9 plants in there in 5 gallon felt pots. Thinking I should have only done 6 plants now but I have yet to trim the bottoms of small branches that never produce anything anyway. Been Vegging for about 3-4 weeks I think. I also have two 4ft T5's in two of the corners but I had those from before and don't think I need them anymore. though they do provide light lower into the canopy.

Thinking I will do 1 more week of vegging since I'm going to trim those small branches and possibly top one or two of their tops. I've bushed them out since clones for the most part but some of them have some taller branches and I want a level canopy.

I'm trying to get about 2lbs this time around. With the amount of light I have I think it should be possible.

Looks good, I was torn between the G8 and the lumigrow 325, for whatever reason I went with the Lumigrow instead. Your setup looks nice and I will follow your grow, curious to see how it will compare to the 325 when I start my grow next month.

i only have one 450 for a 4x2 tent... you think that is enough?? you have ALOT in there for a 4x4.... looks great though

Keebo3000, I think I am going way over kill. It is because I had the extra lights so figured I would use them. Doesn't seem to hurt. If you had a 3x2 I'd say a 450 watt would be perfect. It should be fine for a 4x2 but the two ends will be getting less light but it should be fine. With just a 600 Watt I had a good harvest about 3/4 a pound. But I had major issues with heat and was using 2 gallon pots and it was my first indoor grow though I had done about 4 out doors. I'd say you should be fine as long as you're doing everything else correctly. You can always add an All RED UFO that seems to help a lot during flower. Only thing is I can't seem to find any that use 3 Watt dios. But they still seem decently bright as is.

You might find you need some supplemental light on the side, but you should be able to get by w CFLs for the side if on any budget. I've got a "432" in my 3'x20" and the light is a little weak on either side of the 3'. Good luck and might I suggest just starting with what you got and then adding light as you need it ya dig? You just can't get enough light lol

How is it you have power draw less than a 1000w? you have 2 450W and 2 red UFOs (assuming its the 90W version) and a 600W, even with the power reduction LED have 380w for the 2 450W lights and 420w for the 600w light plus the two 90W UFOs, does it add up as 380x2+420+180=1360w. Furthermore you say it produces as much light as a 2400w of power would, how so?

Not trying to pick a bone with you, im a newbie just starting to grow and wanted to find out a little more.

I used a Kill A Watt power meter. Those real draw stats from pretty much every LED company are always on the high end. Also it depends on the voltage you're using 110 volt you'll be pulling more watts than at 120 volts (Though not a big difference.) If you're using 220/240 Volt you'll use slightly less watts as well. I have a power conditioner that make sure I have clean 120 volt power that doesn't fluctuate. A 90 watt LED with 1 watt diodes will not pull 90 watts. I based the 2400 Watts on what the company says you can replace. A 450 watt can replace a 600 watt HPS, 600 watt 1000 watt HPS and so between the 3 of those that's 2200. add in the two 90 watts and the two 4' T5s and that should easily produce more light than a 200 watt HPS.

From my testing the 600 watt pulls about 388-395 watts, I never tested the 450 watts alone, and the 240 watts pull about 138-145 watts

thanks for the reply.
BTW how did your plants turn out?(weight and quality wise)
Im still doubtful of the yield produced from LED lights, given from what i have read they do not always optimum yields.

im running the 900watts from G8 , doing grate so far !! , got 35 plants under , small plants ...

my first attempt was a total FAIL but not for the panel , it was me , changed a couple of things in my room , and BOOM ! , this second grow is doing more than good !

FYI, their "450W" draws 360W, and their "600W" pulls 420W, "900W" pulls 640W. 12, 18 & 24 square feet are their "ratings". Your tent with 2X 450's + 1X 600 is already over 1kW (360x2 = 720, 720+420=1140, then add whatever your roundy's are)

I'm always up for some reading material if you guys are having success.

LED lights don't pull their "rated" wattage because the LEDs aren't driven at 100%; that's what the manufacturers call "absolute maximum rating" in the datasheets. It is implied, if not specified that those ratings should not be used as design parameters. LEDs run cooler, last longer, and are actually more efficient when run below their full potential.

That's not new info to me, I missed that it was previously mentioned about this brand in this thread.

The fact that they advertise what the wattage draw is, and that it's still not even up to that parameter tells me something about the company as well. Obviously they work, and I'm still here to see the results.

Not too bad but I would have used bigger pots even for a SOG like you got going and probably would have vegged longer. But they're looking pretty good from what I can tell from that Camera. Its pretty bad.

I'll post some pictures later tonight when I get home of what I got going on.

Need to update my two journal threads too.
