I just bought my first video game console.

At the tender age of 35. I bought a used PS3. It came with 2 wireless controllers, a charger stand, all cables and 8 games for $85. Then I bought 4 more used games at GameStop for $21. This was all prompted on New Years cuz the wife and daughter enjoyed playing Smash Brothers on my buddy's new Nintendo Switch. But I wasn't dropping that kind of dough. So I opted for this. Now the wife and I can beat the shit out of each other and not go to jail. So what are some games I should buy? I got GTA 4 and 5. And Mortal Kombat. And a Call of Duty. And some sport games I'll never play.

I remember the first time I seen and played a video game, maybe around 1982-83. I was at my friend's birthday party and his parents got him an Atari 2600 and some paddle controllers He got a couple games too, I think Breakout, Asteroids and Frogger.

As far as a game that you two can beat the shit out of each other, that would have to be Soul Blade/SoulCaliber. Best fighting game. I am probably still one of the best in the world at it. Just sayin. I haven’t played in quite a few years, but I think they are up to Soulcaliber 6 now but any of the older ones will work though.

Been quite some time also but me and my buddies used to beat the shit out of each other playing UFC and also Pride FC. Also a game called MMA.

Jesus Christ, took like 7.5 hrs to completely wipe the damn thing last night. Not sure why it takes that long to wipe 120gb but OK lol. Pretty happy with the investment. I'm prepping to paint the living room today, got some plaster to repair, so probably won't get into it until later tonight or tomorrow.

I only play games on my phone, load something in for a while and eventually delete it and try another one.

So I loaded in gin rummy, mostly because my favorite aunt taught me how to play when I'd stay at her house as a little kid.

Gin rummy isn't tough, you play with one deck so you can remember the cards that are gone. My lifetime score against my aunt was probably around 50-50.

The game I loaded has 8 different opponents. Harry is the best, so they say. So I play Harry.

I noticed one day that the game keeps a running won-lost tab against opponents. And that I was 39-63 against Harry. Which showed me that Harry is a degenerate cheater who gets better cards. At least 7 times, fucking Harry won on the first draw.

So I started cheating Harry and his better cards. There's an 'undo' button so when Harry the degenerate cheater picks up my discard, I hit the undo button and discard something he doesn't want.

I'm 50-7 against Harry since using the undo button. He still wins on the first draw once in a while, but he's doomed when he doesn't.

Fuck You Harry.

I got to beat the shit out of my wife for like 20 minutes last night at Mortal Kombat. My house always has that wonderful quality where one simple thing leads to another really complicated thing. Like a simple honey do of repainting the living room turns into full blown plaster repair. So my immediate enjoyment of said video game console will be few and far between unfortunately.

Seeing that you are not a big gamer emulating may have been a just as good cheeper route if you already have a PC.

I have my pc connected to my television just for emulating old games everything from atari up to GameCube... You could possibly emulate more powerful consoles like the ps2 and wii if your pc is more powerful than mine, i know a 3.3 ghz processor is recommended for ps2 it would probably be enough for wii games too.

Shh, plastering leads to wiring and that new ceiling fan.

I use Linux. I'm sure there's a billion emulators but it's probably more work than I care for or have time to do.

I already did the new support bracket and ceiling fan a few years back lol!
