I just bought my first video game console.

At the tender age of 35. I bought a used PS3. It came with 2 wireless controllers, a charger stand, all cables and 8 games for $85. Then I bought 4 more used games at GameStop for $21. This was all prompted on New Years cuz the wife and daughter enjoyed playing Smash Brothers on my buddy's new Nintendo Switch. But I wasn't dropping that kind of dough. So I opted for this. Now the wife and I can beat the shit out of each other and not go to jail. So what are some games I should buy? I got GTA 4 and 5. And Mortal Kombat. And a Call of Duty. And some sport games I'll never play.
Little big planet for the wife and kid. It's a cool puzzle side scrolling game. 4 players I think. Get your daughter rocksmith and a guitar. It's like guitar hero but you actually play a real guitar. Pretty neat game. Last of us is a great story game too. Theres tons of good ps3 games

Was a Pong shark with a buddy of mine when the 4 spot consoles came out in the bars back in the day. Play for beers and never pay for beers. :)

Played all sorts of games from those to games like Quake and everything in between. Was a big Leisure Suit Larry fan!

Just picked up 2 Raspberry Pi kits at the PO this afternoon and am using one to surf the web on my other monitor now. This thing has potential. Only meant to order one but shouldn't drink and shop I guess. Was going to send one back but may keep it now for experimenting with. Might just get rid of the PC I bought a few months ago to pay for them and use the Pi instead.

Need a challenging hobby to keep the old brain cells firing and this ought to do it!

:peace:

Videogames lose value very fast. If you have any technical know how I suggest modding your PS3 to get games from other consoles including the original super smash bros on n64. It's not the easiest thing to do but it will turn your $80 into millions worth of games.

I had a modded ps3 for a long time just look up custom firmware and download games from piratebay or rent from gamefly if you still can and put them all on an external drive.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I pretty much reckon I'll play something once and be like "That was fun. But man I could have painted baseboards in that time". And then go and paint the baseboards And never play it again lol. I'm not a big gamer and basically bought it for the kid. I did play SSX for bout 30 minutes last night. That was fun.
