I Know Someone Can Give Me Advicee!

On December 31st, I planted one seed and currently, today I is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall, the thing is it doesnt have leaves, the shell its basically opened and there is a little...something in there starting to grow. Im surprised there isn't leaves. Lack of water? Light? Too much water?

Also I planted 7 new seeds in party cups in MG potting soil, is this good? I need to move them a little closer to the light but im also getting an HID bulb so i dont even know if thaat would matter.

I got a picture

What lights do you use now, what distance are they, what times are they set? I have done MG soil before, Not the best, but its great for a first grow.

Oh, also how much water, and what did you do to germinate? I have had my seed shells come up like that, and I honestly remove them. There should be two very small leaves under there, and they are reaching for the light, but the shell is on them still.

It's not going to grow if you don't get that shell off. the leaves inside (the cotyledons) are the batteries that power the seedling until it can develop roots. They can't do anything if they don't get light. Be gentle.

I hate it when the shell stays on. If i does not come off on its own withing a day just gently pry, pick, pull its off the get to be a pain sometimes just dont snap off your babies head.

I hate it when the shell gets stuck. Even worse is when you take the shell off and the damned membrane is still engulfing your plant. Thats even harder to get off.

fuck that membrane then it dries up and wont come off for shit i had one stick the cotyledons together the spear leaves grew out the side but the fuckers will stuck in the middle i cut them apart but they never uncurled so i just cut he cotyledons off, I don't want to look at that gay shit

I use a fluorescent light and I moved it up five inches closer to the light so it's about 4inches away. I ve been using bottled water and I watered last night and watered two days before that. I plan on getting legit box with multiple fluorescents. But I should remove the shell??

Yes remove the shell. If that shells not off one day after popping the soil, I remove it by hand. You may want to get them floros closer. I think they're typically 1-2 inches away usually.

yeah its just a shell stuck to it remove it.

i remember back when i was first learning how to grow either in a book or a HT article they talked about this. There was a theory that these plants were superior i dont remember all the details but i do remember that it was a credible source. ( i think it was the potency of these plants that was higher...not a fact but it was an observation from a breeder)

Alright I will remove the shell when I get home and will inform all of how it goes and after I take the shell off what should happen within the next day??? Will the leaves begin to grow?

I removed the shell and I have a picture. Its basically like a bulb on the top of the stem with i guess has to get more light before it opens up cause i basically just did it about 20 minutes ago. Does it look good?

i had shells stuck on leaves for about 10 days on this grow, just pinching enuff cotyledon leaf to hold on, i just left them and eventually they fell off( i think) i stopped even noticing. plants all turned out fine although just thinkin about it the last/most troublesome one struggled to keep up with the rest right up till now, it was always short and at first kinda mutant but i swear i'm gaunna pull at least 3oz from it( harvest in 10 days) the main cola is nice but its got an incredible amount of popcorn buds, dunno if thats coz it stayed short with really tight nodes.
