Correct,6400k for veg and 2700 k for bloom. BTW you dont have to veg under a 400 watt. You can veg under anything and it is actually better if you veg under a smaller wattage so when you switch to bloom it mimics the intensity of outdoor sun. Either way will work though and you CAN flower under any kelvin of light because it's the light change (18/6 veg 12/12 bloom) that makes the flowers. Hope this helped. P.S. a 400 watt will cover a 3x3 to 4x4 sq ft area with no prob what so ever.

If you plan on cloning then you might want to set up a seperate room with CFLs to get them started...Good luck and have fun...Its very addictive so be prepared!

To answer your question, Yes the lights that come with that will due axcellent. But as stomper420 said, you should get some CFL's for either starting seeds or cloning. These you want to pay more attention to the kelvin rating. These are so your seeds/clones have a couple of weeks before they go under your 400 system. A closet or a box would work.

Stop worrying about the kelvin. Just.... stop.

(MH) Metal Halide for Veg
(HPS) High Pressure Sodium for Flower

btw how old are you?

Total BS here. ^^
It is just not efficient to veg. under intense light for the first couple of weeks. Anything after that will benefit greatly from more intense light.

What you have is just fine. Read about what distance to put your light, it makes a big difference when growing.

I started with a two blub T5 I veg under a 400wtt (but I am going back to T5) flower 1000w both are HPS.

Look around this from, your growing under good lights.
