I use the blue labs pen. They can be had for 75-85 bucks normally. But a Hanna is fine as well just stay away from the cheapos on Amazon and eBay they tend to not be accurate and break often so it’s worth saving for a decent one. I know the feeling on the pups. I currently have 2 chocolate labs and my son got a blue healer pup but my old male lab is nearing the end of his years but they all are my little buddies and get treaded just like they are my kids. Love them dang dogs.

It’s worth trying to finish. Worst case you will end up with something to smoke off it. Use this grow to dial in your environment if you haven’t already. And just stay the coarse. If it was mine I would grab some one part synthetic nutrient like flora nova bloom and start using that every other watering or every 2 watering because the organic dry fertilizer takes time to break down and become available to the plants and a small bottle of FNB is pretty cheap and it’s super easy to use other than the shaking the bottle to mix it up that takes a couple minutes because it’s thick.

@Duber619 I’m tagging Duber on this one because he is the buddy I was telling you about that started with soil and switched to coco at my direction and he couldn’t be happier. I know his skill has come a long way but his first soil grow wasn’t very good and since switching to coco he has ran some side by sides in soil and coco and the coco has blown the soil away as far as growth rate and final yield.

also @Jimi O'Connor. Start cloning those plants is super easy and will save you a ton of money on buying seeds everytime. If you find that you don’t want to keep strain just can them but find some good ones and take clones. You will be surprised how quick they add up before you know it you will have clones all over the house lol.

Well i had to move, so, i had to harvest earlier then I'd liked to have. The buds had amber colored titchomes, maybe like 7-8% of them. I dried them in the tent and cured them for 30 days. The curing process didn't go perfectly, the humidity got into the 40's % wise rather quickly. On a suggestion, I added boveda humidity packs to regulate the humidity in the jar, and the boveda basicly took the smell away.

When I smoked the sativa strain, it was an extremely speedy high. I'm guessing it was due to the earlier then wanted harvest. It literally was like doing a line of Blow.

The other strain was Gelato, i didn't smoke much of either seeing how they were kinda harsh. But the Gelato came out better than the sativa strain. One thing I think added to the poorer quality bud, was the plants grew so tall in the tent, they were kinda close to the light. I think that contributed to the low rh% so soon when curing. Also when I was using my 1st humidifier, I was using regular tapwater. The water is either hard or maybe alot of minerals? Anyway, I think one of the reasons the smell wasn't that good could have been because the buds got coated with the minerals (or whatever is "hard" in the water) during the flowering stage of the grow. Now im not saying thats what happened, but I was told that the reason the charcol filter cover looked like it had some dust on it was bc the minerals in the water. Does anyone know if thats true or not?

Overall the bud wasn't that great, which sucks but I chalked it up to an overall learning experience.

Yea my dog Blair was a literal rescue. My girlfriend was out doing something and found her all dirty and malnourished. She brought her home beacuse it was winter time and we gave her a bath (that left a ring in the tub) we went back to where she found her to try and find the "owners" and some family told us that a homless couple had her. The dog had clearly been beaten aswell so we said fuck it and brought her back home. She made a full recovery and has been the best dog I've ever had. She's a little dog too, I never thought I'd like a little dog. She looks like a fox, she's a schiperkey and a pomeranian. So she's to big to be a toy dog and to small to be like a mid sized dog. Its tough watching them get old

So since I've been asking you guys about this grow, the one plants a male so i know its pretty much useless. Any suggestions on what to do with it or is it completely trash?

And any suggestions on what to do with the soil from the male plant? Ultimately I'd like to make my own, isn't there a way to like just store the soil in a plastic tote and add all the nutrients and what not to it later before my next run?

You did answer a few of your own questions here.
Harvesting early will negatively impact your end product. Drying too quickly or too much (too low an RH) will negatively impact your end product. Once your drying plant dips below 50% (I believe) the cure process is over technically. Adding a boveda or other humidity control pack will only make the flower feel more moist but will not restart the curing process and likely won’t be able to bring something back up from 40% and humidity packs are known to destroy terps (some people debate)..

last but not least, only use distilled water or dehumidifier water in your humidifier. If you use tap water you will see mineral dust on plants, tent/grow room walls, etc. I have to imagine if it’s in your plants it won’t taste good and likely not great for you to smoke and will likely make it not burn as expected

Idk if id want to clone thies 3 plants they seem to be not great genetically and ive had a few issues as you know

Yea i wiped the tent inside and out including all the poles fans etc, etc to make sure i got anything that could negatively impact the buds

That was the 1st grow, since then I bought the ac infinity humidifier and I have only ran distilled water through it. Since the weather has gotten nicer, it hasn't been on much. Honestly I think my next issue is going to be that its to humid in the tent. It was pouring rain last 2 nights and the humidity was over 60% even with the light on. With the light off it was at 65% at its peak. I got alot of airflow in there both fans are on high.

Since i lollipop'd the plants about a week ago and have had to tie them down as best as possible, knowing there gonna stretch during flowering im wondering how much foliage to cut away. I don't want leaves overlapping one another bc the moisture gets trapped and im trying to prevent mold and mildew. I have a little tiny dehumidifier I bought on a suggestion but its to small to really make much of a difference. When it gets really hot out ill put the ac in the window. The tent is in a corner with a window on each side. So i vent the inline fan out one window and will have an ac in the other. I hope that helps when the time comes.

Idk if this makes sense but this is my first grow in my new place so I also have to get used to how the house acts with temp and humidity changes
I added a few pics of what they look like today. Some of the leaves are like curling up and idk what that means. Any thoughts on how much foliage to trim?

Lol, we were talking about your previous harvest not your current grow :bigjoint:

60-65%rh isn’t a bad thing per se, what are the temps? Could be closer to hitting vpd numbers than you think

Mid 70's mostly, around 3pm the sun beats on the side of the house with the room the tents in so it gets up to high 70's if its warm out so far. I just moved to this apartment so im not sure how hot it will be in the summer yet. I got ac though so im sure it will be okay.

And I was under the impression that any time the RH is over 60% is when mold can grow and mildew. I need to trim the plants to get some of the foliage cleaned out
