I hear you on the osap thing...my middle daughter is putting herself..thru school and didn't want to be a burden on us...
so she worked for the first few years out of high school while apprenticing to be a chef...
She' is a mature student too...trying to live off her savings and osap...she is finding it hard...she also,,,has basement flat in Etobicoke which is kind of expensive. near the airport...which is kinda sketchy area....and she has two dogs...she cares for....too...lol
I hear the same things about what its like for her...with her part time working at the convention centre and going to school...its really not an easy life....just be glad your young enough to still do it...
I used to live in fairview near the container ships...trust me Halifax has some rough area's too...
Cape Breton...is the magic place...
Also lived in Amhearst and Oxford...in the north,,,,both pretty safe and tame places...
