I Need Answer!

so im growing and my plants r about 15-17 in tall. and im using two 150 watt incandesent bulbs and one 150 watt flood light and a uv light. there growing and every thing but will i be able to flower with these bulbs. i am running them on 24hr veggie schedule right now but im going start to flower in a couple of weeks help please thanks

try some cfl if you can`t get a hps.if they are at 17" you might think about flipping to 12/12 light.depending on the strain they can triple in size when you flip the lights.

Get rid of those incandescent bulbs and the uv light aswell, they´re just putting out heat and increasing ur electric bill and not doing shit for the plants, get some cfl´s they are real cheap and are the perfect solution if u can´t afford to get an HID... (READ ABOUT LIGHTS)...17" plants -> i would flower, deppending on age and strain of course but thats what i woukd do...

You really need to bone up on your knowledge of color spectrums.

Clone - Blue/Red color spectrum = High quality t-5 florescents.
Veg. - Blue/Red color spectrum = High quality t-5 florescents or Metal Halide.
Budd - Red color spectrum = High Pressure Sodium.

Blue/Red = Spring & Summer
Red = Fall
~
24 hrs. = Spring/Summer
12 hrs. = Fall

Anything else is just a great waste of your time and money!

Here is what I use:

Clone and veg. = High quality t-5 florescents. ($300.00 system).
Budd = 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium.

word well the problem is i have no doe to do this i can get the cfl's what wattage and how many also ican i use the flood lights plus i shouldnt start flowering til i get those cfl''s correct
p.s got three hps bbulbs no ballast or lid the are regular socket sizes they are like shop light can i use them two 150 hps bulbs and one 100 watt hps bulb but

Are you serious about growing? If so CF's are your best bet with limited funds, also get as many watts as you can afford. You can also flower with your CF's by far not the best but it will work on limited funds. GL

so just normal househols cfl's and u know anything bout the flood lights

so i got six 46 watt cfl's and two 36 watt cfl's u think this will be enought or to much

No you can not use hps lights in a normal socket ! You want a fire? When it comes to hosehold normal florescents the more the better by far! You have a car wash near by? They almost always have 50/100w HPS lights in their wash stalls. lol

Also get the fricken flood lights out of your head, they don't work! Wrong color spectrum ~ yellow and white color spectrum they are! To bad you don't live near me I would turn you on to somes HPS's.

i already got the hps bulbs but i didnt get them from a grow store so there like the shop light hps bulbs i plan on gettin a fixture but i dont want to buy them from a grow store we have wall fixtures at my work but there like u know parking garage's and car wash fixes would i be able to use that? and how many cfl could i stck in there i have an unlimted number of them

and how can i find the color spectrum of house hold cfl's there no on the box

you can use those fixtures but you might have to modafy them.it would help to see a pic of them

Now that is a horse of a different color. If they are what I'm thinking they are, then they will work just fine. Just remember two things, heat is your enemy, and the more light the better. Thus the reason I use 1000w Hps's.

word so since i have started flowering it been gettin like 65 degrees when the light are off is this alright and now i have 9, 42 watts cfl's and 3, 36 watt ones think its to much ? and is it alright if the leaves touch the bulbs thank for all ur reponse's peace

65 degrees. that sounds a little cold. remember that these plants are indiginious to warmer areas. your temp should drop 10 degrees with the lights off. just be carefull and ask away.

alright need help big problem so my plants were drooping a lil bit yesterday so i transplanted them into 1 gallon pots and watered them till they drained out the bottom added those extra light bulbs now i burnt one of my leafs and they r still drooping what can i do i need help please if those plants die i might kill my self first timer very inexperinced any pespone will help thank everyone for there time later

alright slow down and smoke a J and slap yourself across the face. OK, welcome back to reality. If you burt one of your leafs try moving the light up or your plant down. a good rule of thumb (sry ladies in here for saying that) is if you stick your hand under the lights and it hurts your hand, it is going to hurt your plant. move your hand away from the light until you no longer feel the heat and presto, that is where you want your plants. if they are drooping and there was already water in there, prey you didn't kill them. go out and buy a moisture meter at like lowes for $5. it sounds like you over watered them. but don't put the gun to your head just yet. let them set for about 2-3 days without water and see if they perk back up (they usually do, man I love this plant!). you have to remember that although the top of the soil is dry, it is not dry all the way down. I would say the most important thing right now is to just sit down and burn a FAT-ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
