I need help-asap

i sould of transplanted a week ago. I need to know if the soil i got is good or shit.. i got it from the garden center. The lady is was good for planters. But it has fertilizer allready in it that says feeds up to 4 months! I don't want it to feed for 4 months. I was going to mix it with vermiculite and perlight.. is this going to work... i know what i should of done is get some Black Gold or FoxFarm but they ain't got it here and i didn't want it shipped to my casa.

if the only soil u can get is from a store like homedepot and u dont have a lot of options at least get something with ORGANIC written on the bag. ive never made my own soil, ive been using Roots Organic by Aurora i got from my hydro store and its wonderful

I use potting soil baked in the oven to kill whatever nasties might be in there. I mix it with 50% perlite. I let my water stand for at least 24 hrs to let the chlorine evaporate and add the nutes just before I water. Just my 2 cents

its a bad idea to get soil with nutrients added in. most of them will say time release fertilizer or something like this. you dont want this because you want to feed your plants yourself. time release nutes cause alot of beginners to overfeed their plants and often kill them. you should look for some new soil.

ok i got mirical grow organic and guys here said it sucked... the only other thing they had looked good, but it said it "retained water" i don't want any root rot. Will HT ship dirt disgreet?

The thread was only 4 minutes old and you are bitching about ppl helping noobs. There are a bazillion threads on here that will tell you to stay away from MG and any other soil with time released nutes. How about using the search function? How about trying to help yourself? Ever hear the saying "cant help someone that wont help themselves"?

Nvirgo....stay away from that shit. Use plain perlite if you have too.

I called High Tech and they were closed but it coast $40 mother fucking denaro for a shipped bag of Ocean Forest.. the other stuff i seen didn't have nutes but it said it held water.. should i get that and add perlight and vermiculite for drainage... ????

If you must transplant now and you dont have time or dont want to get materials for your own soil mixture (which is better for marijuana than generic potting soil containing nutes) then using the soil you have is just fine. You just will need to make sure you dont overwater .. water every 3rd or fourth day and completely soak the soil so drainage is immediate.
I would add a drop or two of lemon juice to the water that you feed the plant because I have found that those miracle grow soils tend to have a very high PH value, so using lemon juice will lower the PH slightly (6- 6.5 is ideal). BTW, getting the right soil mix is MORE important than transplanting and/or relieving a possible root-bound issue so I would recommend waiting and getting the proper soil materials then transplant. good luck!

I don't see why it would matter if dirt is shipped discreet or not...dirt isn't illegal in any way, shape, or form.

Miracle Grow will work if that's all you have available, just try to find the most basic stuff possible...organic if available. Avoid time release stuff and all that unless you know what you're doing.

They ( http://www.htgsupply.com/ )send it in a plain cardboard box. It's not specifically discreet pre se but it doesn't say "Works great for growing Marijuana" or anything. Honestly man, it's soil. I use FF to grow wicked tomatoes. If they tried to bust me for buying soil it'd never stand up in court. Hope this helps.

fOR FUCK SAKE!! I never said it was agenst the law to buy soil,, I want discreet thats all,, but it's 40 bucks to get Fox farm shipped.... read up the post.. should i get the stuff without nutes, but holds water. that was the only other stuff they had besides Black Kow.???

thanks everyone,, i got some ocean forest and mix it with some perlight and vermiculight... i Think transplanting went good... One plant looked like shit so i tossed it. Still got 28 fems... some mixed indica and sativa.. I am going to atempt to super crop the sativas cause they are pretty tall.. i should have picks up in a week or two.

I plan on letting them veg for another week to get into their new homes, then Flower,, does this sound good?
