I looked, I didnt see anything that in the store that you have been talking about
I am not trying to sell you anything. I am trying to point you in the direction of getting a smoking deal. Your being an asshole about it. If you call aura directly and explain your situation like I did... You are skipping the middle man. They aren't supposed to do that.. But it is a small company so if you aren't an assshole like you are being they might hook you up. I paid 2100 with installation for two of the two tons. I linked you that website because it is another place where I get mini splits for a smokin deal. your welcome

Yes . If you buy from online or from a retailer they are going to mark you up an extreme price. I know what the dealers are paying for these units .
In cali.. Where you can get a mini split on every corner.. Your more likely to get a good deal because everyone sells them

I did get some information from the link... Some a/c units do not validate the warranty if it is bought online. Mitsubishi being one of them. If you want a Mitsu you will have to buy from a HVAC company!!! That is why they cost so much!
I was looking at dealing with Senville directly. I was really considering asking them if installing on a grow room would void the warranty...

I hope that Ideal Air and all of their associate go bankrupt... It all started with a shitty little portable unit. I had such a bad experience with it that I hope they die!!! You are going to have to hold me at gun point before I buy from them. Hell, you might have to pull the trigger.
Sorry Patrick, you didnt really change my mind. It is because of my deep hate for Ideal Air, not because I am too stupid to listen to anyone. Customer service almost had me going postal!!! If Ideal Air and Aura systems are the same, you can keep it!

Here is what I understand about the Mitsubishi. You cannot order online and have a warranty. They do not come pre-charged or with any hook-up equipment. They EXPECT a professional to sell you the system and hook it up for you... You cannot buy 410a without a HVAC license. You are forced to have a pro come to your house with a full-on freon recovery unit. They recover 410 and vacuum the system at the same time, then recharge the system while the machine is hooked up... I am licensed for Automotive HVAC but it does not transfer to residental hvac. I have been trained in R134a.

You should visit the guys thread and ask him some questions. I think his unit came with everything. Think he said he got it shipped from Flordia. With my Mr Slim i did have an a/c guy come out and hook it up. Charged 250 bucks, so i gave him 350 cuz i thought he was working to cheap. If you don't want any one in your circle to know about your garden then i understand what you want to do. Good luck and i hope you just get the right size unit for what you want to run.

I didnt realize that you had a Mr. Slim.? I was just saying that they tried their hardest to not make it DIY kit.
When it really comes down to it, there would not be much difference in price having a pro charge the system ect...
Your right, I am on the paranoid side... Since I am having to wait to buy a unit, they are on back-order, I might try to save my money until then and see how close I get to buying one!

Could you provide a link?
I thought about just hiding all of my equipment and tell the a/c guy that I am converting the garage to a bedroom. It is more like an enclosed room inside of my garage. Do you think that I have anything to worry about? I could throw a bed in there lol!

IF you don't already have an AC guy in your circle .. You need a bigger circle. It's a 4 lighter dude. No one cares . small potatoes . Tell him your growing lettuce they don't care they just want to get paid. I'm assuming your not in cali or a medical state with your paranoia. 4 light harvests aren't worth being stressed out about and keeping your life a secret lol. People be trippin

My paranoia comes from being a combat veteran. I have a distrust of the general population...

I went to a private school and took automotive... We had the HVAC class next to us. I tell you man, they are no better than cave men! It seemed like you needed to be a convicted felon to graduate HVAC! They made us mechanics look like doctors!

EDIT: Not every HVAC guy is an neanderthal, only like 90%!

I think Mr Slims come pre charged bro. i could be wrong but i think they do. If i remember right the a/c guy was just checking the pressure to make sure everything held. I think.

I might do a Mitsubishi in my house. My central unit is going out and I really just need to cool my living area. I am using 2x12000btu window units.

Here is my experience with HVAC students. We would have a smoking area and we would share the area with the medical students, 80% female...
The guys were closer to the back door and when it was break time, the a/c guys would be the first ones out. The women would have to walk past them as they hooted and hollered at them. Seriously, imagine a woman walking through a jail! The teaching staff decided it was enough and they separated the medical from the rest of us... I think that most of them were on meth!
