Nah, thats where it all came from. We crossed 2 cup winners and then, every yr, crossed that, with the new yrs winner,...but none of these crosses were ever stabilized till later when the Church came into the line up and it got tasty as fuck. Thats when I asked my buds to run some numbers for me. The rest is up in smoke, lol

I crossed some wordens pond ( an URI strain around for many years ) and Halleys comet from " The Flying Dutchman in Amsterdam ". The Result is my " Rhode Island Red " mostly because of the native strain I crossed . I have had this strain about 14 years currently .
My friend Oban tout's your RI Red, I'd love to give it a whirl. Never heard of Worden's Pd. (as a strain), however like the Red, I would enjoy growing local strains, especially older genetics.
One of my hobbies is fishing and Wordens is a great reservoir for toothy critters. Does the strain name have any correlation to that (like the med has a 'bite' to it), or perhaps just it's proximity to the campus, local hangout spot back then, etc. I like a good cryptograph.
God Crack
Yeah I'll take one of those dipped in choclate. ;)
We did the crosses here but all the trait isolation was done by the conn coalition. They ran no less than 200 of each cross for us. Even still, we are finding hazey phenos, something we were trying to eliminate.
That's incredible. So 12 to 1500 plants a bout in the final stage? Are they all grown to maturity or is some culling going on based on just appearence?
No doubt that is a lot of work!
Ps, why do you guys want the pheno out, is there too many of them popping up? Perhaps that gene is what holds it all together! Or it could be the future... the variable always won in Darwins world.

Buddy, if you follow the river out of the north end of wordens and could get all the way up to where it opens into great swamp again (pretty much impossible) but if you could,...you'd be sitting in water that we shocked a 13.6 Larry out of last yr with DEM. :)

As for the pheno, I hate hazes ,lol.

BS! That must have been one lump of a fish! I fished for Bass since I was a child but a few years ago began fishing exclusively for Carp. I enjoy making my own rigs, preparing my own bait and spots. The sitting and waiting isn't what I'm use to but you get a lot more time to take in your enviroment and diddle in your thoughts. My biggest last year was 22.5#.

Those DEM fellas know a lot that the general public doesn't. I wish I had access to some of the stuff the do, or could go ES'ing with them like you do! I hardly think they targeted that spot on a whim. LOL

Are we talking about that moldy tasting haze? (I don't know how else to describe it.)

I have my baits made at my ex's dads jewelry factory in the Phillipines :) It cost me about $2 to knock off an MS Slammer. You can see them here...

Oh, and no, any haze. I hate that incencey flavor, just a personal thing. Reminds of the stuff they smoke the church out with at Christmas......

I'm a cheese, skunk, pine guy

That definently brought a smile to my face. Good memories of the action of Bass fishing... occassionally catching fish like that. Pure enjoyment on your face right there, especially having them be your own lures. I love the size of that. When I do decide to go float in the boat I will troll for Pike or late Bass in the fall with a Rapala J13. It's about 5" and single jointed - but it's the biggest of that style they make and about most afforable and useful lure I can afford to bust around and afford to lose a few of.

Looking at the size of those fish, the boat, the gear, etc... your way to far for a convert. But. We've got to go Carp fishing sometime - it's far different but it's a hell of a time. Having a freshwater fish strip 50 feet of line before you pick up your pole makes it quite worthwhile.

I'll dig up the picture off the 22# from last year. A DEM officer took the picture. I was in a rather public place in NP and a crowd was around me (it took about a half hour) and he showed up asking if I was stuck on the bottom. Next question was if I was fishing for Turtles. After some silence, "I had no idea freshwater fish got that big". Turned out to be a really nice guy.

I am also a member of the Haze haters association. From the way it grows to the repulsive smells, I hate everything about Haze!

i kind of like a nice clear haze-y feeling in the morning... not all the time, mind you, but from time to time it is nice to get all vaporized and focus on being here now...

Do you have one of those (Volano?) vapes NL? I've seen some online however I refuse to inhale anything out of plastic. Thats what it appears like at least. Was looking for some local people to inform me what the deal is.

yep, i sure do have a volcano, and it is the single best unit i've tried short of the full on verdamper (which evidently is very hard to get shipped to the us)... i've tried (and still do try) other vapes, and even smoke from a pipe or jay from time to time, but as far as testing meds, daily usage, and durability there is nothing that beats a volcano (for me and my needs), plus i like the fact that i probably will never have to get a new one, like ever... the ones that my friends had in use in cali were on and being used all day, every day for 7 years the last time i was there, the only thing they had to do was replace the bags and air filters from time to time, but the units are rock solid... i have the dial (manual, not digital) kind, with the easy valve, and it is amazing... it regularly floors everyone who tries it... hell i had one friend who only smokes from a 3" pipe coughing his brains out because it hit so hard... if you have the means, i fully endorse it... plus a great secondary thing about vapes is that you can save all your vaped meds and use them for baking or what-not... which you most certainly will not do with spent jays or pipe residue... try it, you'll like it... or pm me and we'll have a chat...

yeahh haze is gross I grew up right outside NYC and when I first started smokin as a young teen it was either Jamaican Brick weed or haze
