Bethrae, stay away from edibles. Years ago when I suffered from anxiety attacks and would hyperventilate myself until I passed out, I tried eating pot for a while. I would just cook a nice bud in a little pot for a while and eat it. At the time I liked the long lasting intensity of the high but I made the mistake of cooking too much and eating on an empty stomach. I wound up in the emergency room because I passed out. I don't remember but I probably had a bad anxiety attack. When I came to, the EMT said my vitals wouldn't stabilize. There's more to the story which is funny as hell but I just wanted to warn you. Through the years users laugh at my tale of overdose but, anyone experienced with edibles knows, it CAN be done.
I smoke a milder sativa now for my arthritis, my anxiety attacks left years ago. The sativa though in small doses is very relaxing to me also. Whatever you do, just take it easy, one small toke to start, just enough to calm.
Eating it, is totally AWESOME. You just can't ever ever do it the way that you did - NEVER!
I am very careful when I make butter, I know the EXACT amount of cannabis butter per cookie. And I experiment, eat one - wait until it kicks in completely before thinking about eating another.
I have found, for myself (an all day, ery day smoker) I can usually ingest about 0.5 - 1.5 g of weed at one time, and find it enjoyable and without FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!
Everyone is different though, my mother ate one of my cookies the other night, and while I was hyper and awake - she sunk into my Bliss bag (giant bean bag chair) and kept starting at her fingers and toesies - super cute! HIIIIIiiigh as fuck.
Me ma has the 'thritis too! She is kinda ascared of being all high, because she is afraid she will fall over (she's 70 years old). She is interested in trying the kind that is high CBD (like from the Charlotte's Web documentary - which she saw, and now WANTS - hahah).
She also has Sjögren's syndrome, so she CAN'T smoke anything.
You think a mild Sativa would work for her? I'll still need to get her a vaporizer, make her a tincture, or give her some cookies for her to be able to get-it-in...
After accidentally dosing her a bit the other night though, I think she's afraid of my "Percocet cookies" as they were called. hahahahah - she didn't complain about back pain (or any pain) ONCE though. I'm much rather be high and NOT in pain, than in pain and NOT high....gross....hahaha.
