I need pro advice

Heres the deal, its my first time growing and I know all the stuff you need to know for growing...at least I thought I did. I'm trying to grow one plant in my closet in a 3 gallon container and I'm using a 75watt grow light. I have tried growing 2 different plants over the last week and both have died within the first 2 days. I'm trying to grow a 3rd plant now, this is day 4 and now this plant looks like its going to die on me and the main stem is shriveled and the plant itself doesn't look that big. I need some expert help PLEASE. It has always been a dream of mine to grow and I keep failing. what am I doing wrong? how much water should I give the plant? is my light to close? SOMEONE PLEASE SEND ME SOME ADVICE!!!

the "grow light" you have sounds like an incandescent that they market as a grow light. It is useless for growing, get some cfl's daylight for vegging and soft white for flowering. What are your temps, what soil, ferts, how often do you water...

You have bad light, you need better light/closer light.

You may have bad soil, you need better soil.

You do these two things and you will make weed.

Also, grow more then 1 plant at a time when you know you can keep em alive

Two things usually kill new plants..too much water,...water every 3-4 days ..or too much nutes... you don't need to nute plants till 3-4 weeks (start 1/4 strength)... get CfL's.. good soil ..thats it...

What and where did your soil come from?
Your light is definatly wrong. Get a true grow light or CFLs.
Did you use ferts?
Distance the light is from the plants?
How long are you leaving the light on?
How often and how much water are you using?
What kinda water are you using?
Do you know PH of water and soil?

If you can answer these Im sure there will be plenty of good help here to get you going in the right direction. Remember we all started somewhere.

I didnt use any fertilizer
I leave the light on 24 hours a day
Im not really sure how much water to give it when it starts but rite now I give it between 2 1/2 to 3 pints is it to much or what?
Im using tap water and my soil is from the store

btw Im going to the store and I think I can only buy 2 cfl's what watt would u suggest?what is the highest watt cfl's come in because I have seen 100watt but I've heard those are not really 100watt. I was thinking 1 cool white and 1 warm white but im to opinions.

You're going to need way more than that before too long.And the higher watt ones are about 7 a piece...I got a 200 watt equivalent.But, what if it burns out?i know you're anxious to grow,but if you don't have ALL of the proper equipment, you're looking at real heartache, and possibly hermies.Please read the growfaq and get rid of that blue coated grow light.

You need as many Cfls as you can reasonably get around it. If your using Mirical Grow soild that could be a problem due to it has nutes in it already. Some people use with no trouble but most will agree not the best for weed. I think you are over watering and you need a little more light.

so does this mean I cant grow because of the nutes already in the soil or can it still grow if I wait longer before I feed it nutes and give it the rite amount of water?

start the seed in a peat pellet in high humidity as in like a rubber maid container and put it under 18\6 light in the container then once the roots show put into the 3 gallon btw too much water
