I need tips on a good cob build or a good cob light for all stages of growth

Its right up there, especially in bang for buck, diodes for buck and for actual results. Getting some blux gen3 in 2700k 90cri in a few weeks though, i imagine they will flower a bit better or with less watts.

We had a few runs with the vestas warmwhite channel which looked better (and yield a bit better) than normal 80cri, both 3000k and 2700k.

More i cannot say, havent tried all the red sup and uv versions around now.

You mean you flowered with the vestas 2700K channel only? 5000K stayed completely off the whole period?

Yes indeed. There was a slight drop in light levels but a fixture with strips you can just lower it a bit. They seemed to flower faster with more bud appeal and a slightly better yield. From a growers perspective on id say nicer finish, chunkier, bagappeal or whatever.

So Vesta's are pointless then if you're not going to use both channels in my opinion. might as well just use EBs.

The ebs arent available in 90 cri unless you order tons. Its my opinion from what ive seen in our grow and in or_gros sxs that 90 cri is superior for flower.

Does the higher the CRI usually equal the better the spectrum or is it totally dependant on the diode?

I have with the King fixture I retro'd some Vestas in a few years ago. It runs 150 watts on the 5000K channel and 150 watts on the 2700K channel. I veg on the 5000k and run with both on during flower and it grows some dank nugs.
